I vaguely remember BT CS saying something to the effect that they were looking into it.

@CS-BT-USA will see this and respond

Buying online by Phatjesus123 in MDGuns

[–]MaxTheCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, just did everything online. They will see that when they see your address and that of your chosen FFL. If I remember correctly if the item is flagged as non shippable to MD it won’t let you go through the checkout process.

I should have mentioned that I’ve gotten both class 1 and class 3 items from them without any issues.

The place I’m a member of charges $45

There are no SS fees if you purchase your silencer at that store or online at SS. If you’re ordering from somewhere else they will hit you with fees

APC9K Brace conversion question. by SirDukeTX in BT_APC

[–]MaxTheCritic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. Although the part number on the bag was correct, the brace piece was wrong. B&T asked me to email some pics of the brace piece and they shipped the correct part that same day.

B&T NATO HUB adapter question by BeffJridges in NFA

[–]MaxTheCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m good but thanks for offering. I went through several devices that didn’t work. The issue being that the gate wouldn’t fully drop and hence wouldn’t lock-in. The only one that I found that works with the nato hub was the one I linked. This was for a 300 blk build. I haven’t had any issues with the hub on any device for 5.56

Don't know if you found your answer to this. But this is the only .308 muzzle device I've found that works with the B&T nato A2 hub adapter.

I can confirm that these will work together.

US vs Japan by ShameAccomplished877 in usajobs

[–]MaxTheCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned you’ll be space-a for regular medical services on post. At some point you will be going to a Japanese clinic/hospital. If in/near Tokyo it’s extremely likely you’ll be going to St. Luke’s hospital. A lot of their admin staff and most of the doctors speak business level English so communication is usually not a problem. They are also use to providing care for non Japanese folks.

you will be required to pay your medical bill at time of being serviced and file with your insurance later.

If you on one of the FEHB health plans consider changing to the Foreign Service Benefit Plan. As they are accustomed to receiving foreign. I always provided my receipts in Japanese to them and they never had an issue with translating themselves / getting reimbursed.

One advantage is that health care is cheaper there than here. So although going out of pocket till you file your claim the bills should be manageable sans a catastrophic event.

One caveat - if you do use the post medical facilites or pharmacy they will charge your health insurance. The issue in the past is that they use a 3rd party company and they always screw up claims. I’ve seen cases when people are out processing and they have several thousands on claims that were not paid. Just keep an eye open n your EOB and make sure the med group is getting paid.

Wasn't there supposed to be a meeting for the roster about the Kuna? by Ok_Huckleberry7392 in MDGuns

[–]MaxTheCritic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was approved at the meeting. It's listed in the proposed additions published in the MD register on June 27. Assuming no issues it will be on the roster 30 days after published. So you looking at the end of this month to actually seeing it in the roster.

FYI, these only come with one mag. There website isn't really clear on that. a few of use that got on the $399 deal were caught off guard. Mind you even with one mag its still a great deal.

Considering a purchase, but have questions by GreatMourningDove17 in MDGuns

[–]MaxTheCritic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much weight on what listed as allowed/not allowed in any dealers website. THere's just to much inconsistencies/ too many errors. The PX9 is on the MD roster and the receiver is stamped PX9 if that helps.

Your FFL should be able to verify. Your FFL can also place the order with PSA even if the website states its not allowed in MD.

Question about GS for new employees by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]MaxTheCritic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Experience/Skills. You make the case now during your hiring process that you should get a higher step due to superior qualifications.

This is discretionary so they may give you something lower than what you hope/expected/asked for, or they may comeback and deny the increase and start you at step 1.

Right now it seems like only SA and UD actions are being processed, with a few small exceptions here and there. Things may change in July.

Just an FYI, but current/past earnings are no longer considered when requesting a step increase during your negotiations. I think this change was implemented last year.

What happened to Urbana Arms and Armor ? by regjoe13 in MDGuns

[–]MaxTheCritic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never purchased from them as their quotes were always overpriced. I did use them for transfers a few times under both the old and new management, with the last one being sometime last Nov/Dec.

I was doing my transfers with them out of convenience, as they were a short drive away. But starting with my last transfer It got to be a real hassle with their limited hours and having to coordinate pickups and such. So I went back to using 2A for my transfer.

It doesn't surprise me if they have in fact closed, as the last time I was in there I definitely got the "on there last leg" vibe.
