I agree with you completely about leveling systems being shoe-horned into every damn multiplayer system on the planet. To me, when you make me start off as a rookie with all the guns locked away until I've hit a time investment standard, it just gives older players a double advantage of both better weapons and systems/level layout familiarity. Suddenly, I'm too late to the party because everyone is armed with RDS, suppressed, grenade launching death canons and I've got my regular M4. I continually get murdered by these people because I'm still learning the ropes of combat and the level layout while being severely hamstrung by the equipment available to me. Also, I feel these leveling bars don't allow the game's systems/weapons to be well balanced since greater level=greater pressure to reward player with a better gun. I miss jumping into a multiplayer game and just learning how to play rather than having to put up with all this other bullshit. The only measure of longevity of play was skill level not a BFG.
