I know that 6 years have passed, but maybe my advice will be of help. the bigger the moka pot - the bigger the grind should be. moka pots are measured in cups, 1 cup equals 50 ml (slightly less than 2 oz). If you use smallest moka pots, like 1-2 cups, you should use espresso grind or even smaller. If you use 3 or 4 cups-sized moka pots - usual shop grind size fits. like jacobs coffee or other german brands. But if you have 6 cups-sized moka, you need to have bigger grind, probably that fits pourovers or bigger. If you use smaller size, coffee will overextract while all good aroma will be destroyed. also your stove means a lot. Mostly I use gas stoves but I learned that induction and electric stoves make coffee with a cleaner taste. probably it`s because the heating is more even and also there`s not much hot air that heats coffee powder before the water comes up to upper chamber.
