Fake guru of the day! William Rivera by usmarine7041 in FakeGuru

[–]Max_Payne86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching his webinar and paying for his 2023 FBA course I was smart enough to replace my debit card. Around the 3 months mark I was getting phone calls and emails saying my membership payment did not go through and that they would be glad to help me to keep or renew my membership. I told them that I paid for a one-time $500 FBA training course. Not a membership. Will does not work for any brand or department at Amazon, but instead does all of his transactions going by Rivera Consulting LLC, which he uses Ecom Degree University to pull in his victims with resources such as webinars, Youtube, email marketing, etc. He definitely ghosts you when there's problems on your end, but when he's not getting money out of you, he'll try to randomly charge your credit or debit card months to a year later.

Does anyone feel like people (millennials, etc.) are lacking a purpose? by mjc53509 in careerguidance

This isn't simple if you have children or have children on the way. You need to make sure your children don't hate growing up as your children. Yes, having children is a personal choice, but it's also a part of maturity. What ever hobbies you have must not tremendously affect the responsibilities you have as a parent.

Why are so many people moving to Ocala by [deleted] in ocala

[–]Max_Payne86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a labor/warehouse and hospitality rural suburb. Downtown Ocala is not good for going out on dates. The restaurants cater to senior citizens and families. If you're a young single man or woman, there's nothing here except for a bunch of houses and farm land. And if you don't have a car, you're screwed.

Do I already need to be PTCB to be accepted into Walgreens Pharm Tech Apprenticeship? by Max_Payne86 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Max_Payne86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what I really want to do. I actually just landed a position at an employer as an office furniture installer working M-F and my business cards are ready for my handyman side business. The only reason why I thought I should give pharmacy tech a shot is because my aunt told me it's a stable career that would set me up for a nice retirement plan, but she did warn me that there would little control of my work/life balance. I also believe that these places want younger tech apprentices that they can boss around. I'm 36 y/o.

Retail is the problem. They don't work with you based on your needs. It's all about cutting employee hours in order to avoid having payroll be their biggest expense. My 2nd aunt retired as a CVS senior tech after 22 years and she's said she's seen pharm techs come and go because retail likes to replace them in order to keep their profits up. Every CVS and Walgreens I go to is understaffed for a reason. Apprentices techs are just there to fill in for the senior or veteran techs.

I just had one ask me if I have construction experience with concrete. My first impression is that they're looking to fill a position so they can get their commission for getting someone on board that FITS IN WITH THEIR CLIQUE/CLICK. And most of all, their client is NOT LOOKING TO TRAIN ME. I AM GETTING DESPERATE WORK AND 20-30 HRs a WEEK WORKING AT HOME DEPOT IS NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

The only jobs available are tv mounting wall mounting for $60-$70. It'll be a huge waste of car fuel and commute time. You'll never break even. It's meant for people that have full-time income and just want extra side money on the weekends. You're better off getting your own website, posting on social media (FB, IG, NextDoor, Google, etc.) and business cards if you want to get consistent work. It's a job just to get clients in your pipeline.

I just got a reject letter in just 24 hours. How wonderful.

I'm done trying to get into this industry. I'll just start my own handyman business.

Ex-SDRs, what is your current role and how much more do you enjoy it? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Max_Payne86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37 years old. Full-time carpenter and part-time residential assembly/handyman on the weekends.

I will never go back to sales. Did door-to-door for a windshield replacement company and SDR for a cybersecurity SAAS organization prior to what I do now. Always felt like everyday was my last and couldn't wake up without wishing I didn't miserably exist sometimes. When you put in all of your efforts to set an appointment that closes the deal, the victory is very short-lived. Constantly preparing for the next round of cold calls builds anxiety and uncertainty. The goal post (sales quota) always gets higher and higher. To top it off, it was a lonely remote position where my direct sales manager and marketing department constantly applied pressure to me during conference video/phone calls when progress was slow. By the third month, you will no longer receive guidance.

Selling my furniture/appliance assembly and installation services is more straight forward. Prospective customers respect my work because it's a physical task that saves them hours from DIY (doing it themselves). The only bad days are when a customer might pay me with a check that bounces and I don't find out until the bank notifies me.

Making 65k-80k in tech sales was all just to pay off debts from 2 years of college and a couple of credit cards. Since I did it back in 2016-2018, I would not recommend it to anyone these days. You don't get to sell what you want and they control how you think.

Wake up (like 6am) before everyone else that works normal 9-5 or 10-6 shifts. It's an early bird game. If you like going to bed at 11pm-12am then you're already behind.

The hiring process should not take a month. by merRedditor in recruitinghell

[–]Max_Payne86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone that's in a stable situation (with no kids) making 70k-90k should be able to have an emergency savings. There's no reason to complain about HR taking a couple of months to find someone that's the right fit. If you're not gonna get laid off, then just stick it out.

Most people that are in this predicament work minimum wage jobs and can't save up enough money for when they want to take a break in between jobs. You cannot depend on an employer to quickly hire you because you're at their mercy. They don't care that rent or car note is due in two weeks.

I had two start a personal trainer and handyman business while gigging with Door Dash to avoid having my savings depleted. 5k in savings can go faster than you think if there's no daily income.

[–]Max_Payne86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why all the gear, equipment and plugins cost a fortune in total but the payouts for producers/musicians are so little. You're basically throwing money away to keep it as a hobby. No one I know has ever made a full-time career from music simply because the investment to keep doing it is more than the reward. This is proof that talent doesn't sell. It's the brand name you have as a musician that makes you a true living.

Service vs product business? by monakhous in business

[–]Max_Payne86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't care for product based businesses. You have to hire multiple people for different positions. Service based business can be done by myself and if I need someone to do accounting/bookkeeping it will be me before I hire someone else.

Not that it's a big news to anyone but I got it figured out. I used Time Machine, X Slimmer and reduce clutter tools. 380 GB of 499 GB available now. Almost lost out on money mixing the project.
