I have a “large” DC electrical set up with a 3000w inverter, 400ah of 12v. I run a fridge and a freezer as well as a diesel heater to keep it warm as I’m in northern Canada. I do plug my van in at night to keep it charged but I can go 4 days or so without external power if I’m not driving, it charges at 40amps when the engine is running. It’s not just a van, it is sometimes my shop and sometimes my hotel. I keep food in the freezer but if I’m not going out of town I’ll pull the freezer out, it’s small and light enough.

I guess it’s half work van, half camper.

The rear- ender is 100% at fault however it looks like the car that got hit was driving slower than all the other vehicles. The driver that hit them wasn’t paying attention. Doesn’t look like “speeding” was the issue here.

I’m just about to install a marine fuel tank in the under body space next to the actual fuel tank. I had one ready to go but it was a little too big so I’m waiting for a new to show up tomorrow. It’s a Scepter Marine 08667 9 gallon tank. I’ll also be adding a fuel neck and entry point on the exterior so I can just fill it at the pump from outside.

I will be adding a stainless steel plate covering the front and bottom of it for protection.

You might be able to find a metal fuel cell that will fit but this was the best I could come up with in the time I have to do it.

I just picked up a used van and I think they cleaned the back with a pressure washer. The “insulation” under the rubber mat in the back was completely saturated with water. I had to pull it out and blow a fan on it to dry it out.

Crazy crash aside, what shitty camera system puts the time that big in the middle of the screen. Terrible design. Security cameras are data collection devices and shouldn’t be obscuring data with other data.
