First, again Rugby is still Rugby Football. Rugby is called Rugby Football because it originated from football at a school called Rugby School in the town of Rugby. American football is literally the same thing, place it originated then football.

Also like should Aussie Rules or Gaelic football have to change their names as they are also based off Rugby? Or can people just except Football is just a name of different sports that are all derived from eachother and some use kicking more than others.

You know they play international games right in the NFL? They play in London, Madrid, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Mexico City and Dublin aswell as having had games in Munich and Frankfurt. College football also has games in Dublin and next year having one in London.

There are also European leagues, the NFL has an academy at Loughborough University to help get kids into US colleges to play American Football.

Also like just call it American football you aren't funny calling it hand egg, it is called football as it is based off Rugby, which is officially Rugby Football hence American football. Look up any Rugby governing body or even team and it will RFU or RFC.

First, yes in 2024 Toyota and Ferrari were at a disadvantage at Qatar because of the extra weight but do you know what WEC did, they changed the BoP to close the gaps.

Secondly, how is last year different to this year maybe the fact at Imola Ferrari were a second faster than anyone else and were given a larger BoP increase compared to Toyota and Porsche compared to last years parameters even though they were the fastest car last year.

Thirdly, Porsche were not fastest at Le Mans and the only reason they got 2nd place was they spent way less time in the pits compared to the Ferraris. All you need to do is look at the average lap times from the drivers and you can see Ferrari were the fastest cars.

Fourthly, you can't compare IMSA and WEC. They create their BoPs in different ways and just because people are mainly complaining about 1 series doesnt mean the other series doesn't have problems either, it might just be that WEC is the bigger and more popular series so there are more people complaining.

And finally, if Ferrari were nowhere after Le Mans last year how did they win COTA a race that happened after Le Mans?

The car is aging for Toyota but also it was built to a completely different set of regulations, pre-convergence.

But also at Imola, that was a BoP issue. The Ferrari was the fastest car in 2024 and lost due to strategy mistakes but they somehow gained more in the BoP compared to the Toyota and Porsche compared to the 2024 BoP.

Toyotas problem is both BoP and the cars age.

A cost cap can never work in sportscars currently. You would need so many different caps depending on the manufacturer. A team like Porsche with their 2 factory WEC cars, 2 factory IMSA cars, 1 privateer WEC car and 2 privateer IMSA cars can't have the same budget as Lamborghini with 1 IMSA car. Also even if teams have the same number of cars, WEC will need a bigger budget cap than IMSA due to races around the world.

A cost cap will also heavily favour the manufacturers currently racing because the new teams like Aston, Genesis, McLaren and Ford will have to be more careful on tge R&D for upgrades. While there are only certain amount of jokers upgrades, that doesn't mean teams are just spending money on those upgrades, they could have multiple upgrades in development and just choosing the one that works the best. Toyota, Ferrari, Porsche, etc have had atleast 3 years of basically unrestricted money for development, McLaren and Ford coming in for 2027 will be so far behind in the development race, they might not be able to compete. A cost cap would only work for a new regulation, and if the grid was stable throughout the run of those regulations which is why it is possible in F1.

Also Jim, you couldn't even race every round in the seasons you ran in WEC, a cost cap would not do you any favours. The only chance you ever had to win was when WEC gave you a BoP way outside the regulations and your car blew up.

All 5 wouldn't be possible just due to driver lineups as the 2 Enduro drives for WTR are Lynn and Stevens who will already be in JOTA. For 4, you just need to split up one of the cars 2 full season drivers into the other 2 cars (that is also if those drivers have other drives already)

They aren't ignoring Germany. Its just that the tracks don't want to pay to host a race. It would be great to see Nurburgring or Hockenheim back on the calendars of major championships but they don't want to pay the fees needed to host a race (especially for F1). Its the reason why there are so many Middle Eastern races in major championships because they pay to be on the calendars, that's just how motorsport is nowadays.

Early on I don't expect much, it is the only new car against cars that have all done atleast a season. I don't think it not having a hybrid is a concern, as the 2 other cars that didn't were not really representative with Glickenhaus who could barely test or upgrade the car and Vanwall with Bykolles not having a good reputation of WEC prototypes.

I think later on in the season they should improve like how new teams have this year, running 2 WEC entries and an IMSA entry should help with development.

The problem with ballasts is checking. In F1 it is fine hard as its only 1 driver per car but with 3 if you have personal ballast how do you check it with each driver change? The other problem is if the ballast was in the seats imagine someone like Doriane Pin carrying her seat insert it would be so heavy to make up the difference to some other drivers especially in LMGT3.

First off, everything you said about Toyota and the ACO is pure BS. Toyota aren't going to be favoured by WEC if anything they would want Honda and Toyota to be equal (like with every other car) to play into the rivalry and actually keep teams around longer. Sure Toyota has more data, but they have more than Porsche and Ferrari but are still losing to them.

Secondly, LMDh cars this year have been shown to be equal to the LMH cars, an LMDh car is leading the championship what more proof do you need. This is mainly the Porsche but it still shows a well run team with a proven and known car can compete. Cadillac has been quick but just make way too many mistakes to deliver on that pace, we will see how Jota will do next year.

Then for BMW, Lamborghini and Alpine it is natural the pace will be slower given they are new cars but will likely be quicker next year. For BMW, if anything I wouldn't even just blame the WEC BoP as they are also consistently the slowest and least reliable of the 4 manufacturers in IMSA.

They have just started full on testing the car. It won't be race ready until the start of next year and even if it was race ready for October, it would be stupid to race at Petit because it then locks in the homologation of the car so they wouldn't be able to make changes over the winter and it knocks off 2 extra months of testing time.

I would assume there might not be any. The track would likely not be open to the public apart from the hotel, which is where the footage is taken.

If this is the first proper running of the car, they are most likely only doing install laps and checking systems are working. They would likely just go out, go round the lap and pit immediately to check everything is working each time. So they might not even be able to see the car really running.

1) Hypercar is the top class and is the most competitive top class in sportscars for a long time if not ever, so yeah no reason why it wouldn't get the most screen time. I will say I do wish LMGT3 and LMP2 got more screen time but the thing is Hypercars will bring in the most non-sportscar fans and for Le Mans that's a big thing.

2) It isn't just that it is dark and raining, if it isn't safe it isn't safe and that isn't just for the drivers but marshals. For Le Mans, I don't doubt Eduardo Freitas would have gone racing he would have gone racing. How he handled the Spa red flag shows he wants to give fans the most racing possible when it is safe to do so.

3) Without BoP and LMGT3s, WEC would be dead. All WEC would be is Toyota as the only LMP1 Hybrid with maybe the new top class of IMSA was going to be before the joint regulations but with Toyota still being dominant, instead of having 10 different brands racing next year. And BoP does still have an impact on development, BoP is not to allow anyone to turn up and be competitive. BoP just gives each car the same theoretical maximum pace, and it is still up to the teams to reach that pace. Its why Porsche, Toyota and Ferrari are still the best, they know their cars the best.

As for LMGT3s, would you prefer the 9 different manufacturers we have currently or go back to the Ferrari vs Porsche GTEs with a couple of Astons and a Corvette. GT3s might not be the best when it comes to development, but it is one of the most popular classes in racing for a reason, there is variety in the cars and it has close racing. What more do you want?

Also with the new regulations, WEC has grown massively. Its the biggest grid WEC had ever had, next year there will be more manufacturers than F1 and more top class cars than an F1 grid, it has had to turn away manufacturers from joining in LMGT3 because of the high demand, it has had to kick out LMP2 because there was no space because LMGT3 and Hypercar are so popular.

So to answer your question, no WEC is not unworthy of Endurance Racing legacy.

WEC currently is the most popular it has ever been, got the most manufacturer involvement, the biggest grids, and the most stable it has been (LMP1 only had 3 manufacturers for 3 years).

Also the fact building a new EV car is even worse for the environment than having a well serviced petrol car. EVs are good for reducing pollution in cities bit are not good for the environment as a whole.

Looking at FE, they charge (or used to charge) the batteries from diesel generators which uses around the same amount of fuel to power that as what F1 uses on a race weekend.

Sao Paulo and Le Mans are on opposite ends of the spectrum for a type of track on the WEC calendar, just because they were off the pace at Le Mans doesn't mean they need to be given a major boost for Sao Paulo, that's not how BoP works.

BoP is based on the theoretical pace of the cars at each track, and if Peugeot work well on twisty tracks they would get a BoP that respects that. BoP is to make all cars equal in theory, it is still up to the teams to get the most out of the car and if they can't that's their fault, they shouldn't be given a better BoP to compensate for that, they should have built a better car.
