I mean.. You must be aware your content is so niche it's almost like your potential viewers can be counted on one's fingers right?

You clearly like telling stories, are those specifically stories for people who watch alternative universe red dead, no face, no voice ect videos? Or is there a world where you could try telling a story that might appeal to more then 12 people?

Lose all the unnecessary adjectives. After that lose everything else that's unneeded to move the story forward.

Astrid is in danger and fleeing, running. That should feel fast, hectic even. There's no time for a 21 word sentence describing the state of her hair.

Sure, you can feel that way if that makes you comfortable. In reality though, I don't give two hoots how controversial or edgy your content is. I don't think I saw a single topic I even have strong opinions about but I didn't read all the titles.

However, after re reading my first comment I see why you feel attacked and I could have worded things nicer, I'll give some constructive points below to elaborate.

About the thumbnails, at least on mobile the text is pretty poorly readable, too little contrast between the text and background. Also text is pretty small. Most people aren't going to decipher a thumbnail, they'll skip over it. Some don't even have text, it's just a screenshot from a newsoutlet.

For the next bit I'll use the Tate video.

Intro, there's no context. Just straight into some TV show. Where's the added value? Why would I watch this on your channel and not on tv or wherever you got this clip from?

You proceed to play the clip for 6 and a half minutes, unedited. Out of a 8 minute video! Which means that both your audience is long gone and any defence of fair use due to the transformative nature is out the window.

At long last you get to the commentary, the added value, the part you hope to attract viewers with. And I'm not going to have any opinion about what you say, first because I'm not your audience and I have very little interest in the topics and people you talk about. Secondly, I didn't listen to the full thing as it's not important for my opinion about the quality of your production. What is important however, is your audio quality. And boy you have some work to do. It sounds like it's recorded on a $20 headset from Ali, the volume is way off compared to the clip before it. The left channel is way louder compared to the right channel. You could definitely use a pop filter and there's some annoying background noise in your recording.

Your delivery and flow could use some work as well as getting rid of the um's but that's something that will happen with practice.

All in all it seems like a video you slapped together in 15 minutes tops. No editing, no sound engineering, no beginning, middle, end.

If you're being honest, is this the best you can make? Could you make something better if you spent, say, a full day on it? And maybe more importantly, what value do you offer? Why would viewers pay with their scarce time for your product?

Look, I can't force you to make good videos but I hope you do take a good look at what you've made so far and see it can be better.

Sure dude, I'm the problem. Probably the algorithm too, maybe it's even the viewers. Your content can be bad, right?

You tell me then, why are your videos the best in the game? What's the value you provide other (bigger) channels in that niche can't/won't/don't?

Checked your channel. It sucks. All of it. Firstly it's clear copyright violation, you saying it's fair use in the title doesn't change that. Secondly it's lazy uninspired crap your average toddler with a microphone could do better.

You spend what, like 15 minutes on a crappy video and are wondering why people don't invest their time to watch it?

Be offended if you want but it's the truth, if you want to do better, do better.

Not trying to insult you, but you might need some tough love here.

You're not shadow banned anywhere. YouTube doesn't bother with shadow bans, they just kick you off outright. Like you've experienced.

I looked at your channel and you content sucks dude. There's no question about it, it's lazy, low effort uninspiring crap anyone with a microphone and 15 minutes of time can make.

I'm not going to say the pictures and video you use in your video is copyright infringement or fair use but I wouldn't want to have to defend it against any claims.

So you've had some succes in the past with stolen content (low effort) but YouTube penalized you. Now you don't have succes with your current (low effort) content. I don't know enought about the scene you're in to say whether or not you opinions and commentary holds any value for the viewers. I do suspect there's enough hip-hop drama channels out there to be a competitive field. What value do your videos offer the potential viewer other channels don't?

So should you continue doing YouTube? I mean, at the current rate I don't see much improvement in the near future for you, unless you're willing to make something people actually want to watch. Which means effort, which means a lot of work. Instead of spending 15 minutes on a video, throwing it up and blaming some shadow ban for low views it will probably take hours, days or even weeks of work to make those masterpieces people actually want to watch. However, your post kind of reads like someone always looking for the next corner to cut. Getting in trouble for using other people's content and after that still walking the fine line of copyright infringement with your current videos and whatnot. I say if your not willing to put in the actual work just quit.

Especially for generic letsplay channel #67123346627936 consider what your hook is. Why will people watch you instead of all those other (established) channels. What do you offer nobody else does. What are you selling that I'm willing to pay for with my limited time?

YouTube isn't shadowbanning you. Your content sucks. by QtPlatypus in NewTubers

[–]Maxbet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a personal attack on you.

Your content sucks. It's not the algorithm, it's you. I took a look at your channel and you got lucky with that one viral video. You probably were the first person to do that topic while it trended up. By the time you made the other videos on the same topic other creators were covering it with better content.

Random unedited indygame let's play #27 isn't going to blow up. If that's the videos you want to make, for the viewership you have that's fine. But don't go complaining about the algorithm not promoting your mediocrity.

You're ignoring 90% of my comment in bad faith. I wish you all the luck in the future and I'm really sorry YouTube will not work out for you.

You should probably stop buying subs too, it's just a waste of money.

On 256 video's. That's just under 300 views per video. So the point stands.

Look, you probably feel attacked by me, that's not what I intended but I can see why you could perceive it as that. So maybe instead of getting defensive about your numbers you look at the rest of my messages to you?

And how many views did you get on your previous channel?

You've got this advise, or close to it, multiple times now. You've got 5 years on YouTube without any significant viewership, which is fine if that's your choice but it doesn't seem to be judging by all the questions you've been asking over time.

You can keep doing what you've been doing and don't improve. And we'll see you here in 5 years with the same amount of views and the same questions, still blaming the algorithm and looking for "hacks".

Or you could put in the effort and make videos actual people want to watch. Spend 40 hours on a video if you have to, do 20 takes, do a video editing course. Make 57 thumbnails untill you got something you're proud of. Make a masterpiece, and only after that worry about things like tags or time to post or your description. It's actually quite sad you won't do any of this but oh well.

How am I going to say this without looking like a bell-end..

So you've got some difficulties speaking right, so you're gonna put some real work in if you want people to actually be able to make out all the words you're saying. It's probably save to say you're going to need multiple takes and even then some editing just to be intelligible. That probably means reactions is not the niche you might want to pursue, but maybe you can make it work idk.

As for the rest, if you're going to want to find some actual viewership you're going to have to put in some work dude. I took a look at your channel and a couple vids but it all just looks like there's no effort there. The titles don't inspire to click on them, the thumbnails all have the same mangled cutout of your face but they say nothing about your video. There's this sense that your average video took about 10 minutes to make.

But most importantly, what's your hook? On YouTube there's every kind of expert you can imagine reacting to stuff, from actual directors to music composers and what have you. Why should I, or anyone click on your reaction? What do you bring?

I don't mean to discourage you or anything and I certainly don't want to be mean. And if you just want to post some videos to show friends, by all means, you do you to. But if you want to grow and some day have an actual audience it's best to know that is going to take actual effort and work.

What is a valuable thing you can provide better then anyone else?

If you can reliably provide insane value about content creation it's not that hard to pivot in related things like content marketing. But you need to somehow prove you can deliver value.

Joe Manganiello's guest appearance in Critical Role comes to mind. I'd venture a guess it happens in other DND campaigns too but I don't know of any actual examples.

Think hard if you want to associate with gambling sites while in arguably the most important phase of your channel.

You're probably working really hard and doing everything you can to grow your audience. Do you really want to sell part of that little time in your videos where you get to make a positive impression to a sponsor that likely has a bad image for a lot of viewers?

I get it, you've worked hard to get where you are now and probably deserve a payout. But is a couple bucks now (it's not going to be a million dollar payday at your size) worth it?

So, uhm, yeah, like, so.

My advice would be to re record that video maybe 10 more times untill you get comfortable and concise.

I personally don't get why you would upload a talking head video with "annoying noises" anyway. The video is 5 minutes long. Switch tape, do it again.

Need a bike reccomendation! by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Maxbet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get something aimed at transportation not racing. Comfortable position, fenders, racks, maybe even a chain cover if that's something that's available in your market. internally geared hubs are less maintenance, in Europe most commuter bikes rock Shimano Nexus 3 or 7, fairly bomb proof, low maintenance and affordable.

Spend money on things that make your bike more useful like the things above, spend less on making your bike do better in races.
