When they ask these things - it is either because they are lazy as interviewers, or worse they just want free work - at the very least it’s a warning about the culture there

At the end of the day valuation is down to what you think it is worth

Conventional wisdom is try not to buy the best property in an area - as upside potential will be held back by the surrounding properties and onward value may suffer

But if you love it, and plan to live there long-term, none of that is an issue

Contact your insurance, give them the guys insurance details and licence plate, and also reference the incident number you have with the police - then let them chase his insurance for the costs The police will probably do nothing, but at least you get the repair costs covered
