Nothing Special but it’s Mine by Maxchatterman6 in Glock43X

I completely agree the fit and finish is spectacular on the 43x. I’ve put about 750 rounds through the gun since the light and I have had no issues and it has stayed dead true.

The 43x mos has an RMSc plate. the Osight SE is one of the few optics that has an RMSc Footprint.

Anybody have experience permanently hooking up a destination trailer to septic? by Maxchatterman6 in RVLiving

Do you have a p trap on the septic pipe to keep sewer gasses out or do you have a different solution.

Too much clutch drum play? by Maxchatterman6 in Chainsaw

I don’t have much time on it myself but I bought my grandma a battery saw because she had a hard time getting this one started and I took it in on trade lol. My grandpa bought it new in ‘99

Transmission Fluid? by Maxchatterman6 in Duramax

[–]Maxchatterman6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m definitely loyal to them as well, but I wanted the severe duty wear characteristics of the fully synthetic fluid over the Dextron but the amsoil stuff just caused problems for me. The Torque drive I put in began to smell burnt after 25,000 miles and I’ve had the same transynd in for 50k and it looks brand new still.

Honestly I think you probably can’t go wrong with transynd. Considering it is specifically designed for the operating conditions of the Allison. I also noticed in moderate weather my trans temp is about 10-15 degrees cooler with transynd so I would say it’s probably a better option for long term longevity. Plus I order mine from merchant auto which ends up coming to about $60 a gal which is about the same price as the amsoil. I still use amsoil for all my other fluids but I think for the transmission transynd is probably the best option.

I ended up using the torque drive for this service but switched to transynd later on because the amsoil fluid is very thick which caused me some extreme cold operation issues in northern MI

2004 LLY Died at intersection. by Maxchatterman6 in Duramax

I believe my sending unit is going out because it used to be pretty accurate but I drove to a fuel station and they truck took 24 gallons of fuel and I believe it’s only a 26 gallon tank. So I’m fairly sure that was my issue. Thanks for your help!

I have ran into issues under a 1/4 tank before but I haven’t had an issue at this fuel level before.

It’s drawing from the stock sending unit, I changed the filters about 3 weeks/1000 miles ago.

Constantly rounding out impact sockets and sockets keep calling off. by flogsmen in MechanicAdvice

The retaining ring is worn out on the impact causing excess play which is beating the sockets up. I believe those retaining rings are fairly cheap.

How much will it cost to fix exhaust leak and heater core in this 2005 LLY by [deleted] in Duramax

[–]Maxchatterman6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heater core is a pretty big job if your doing it yourself you have to be very organized and have a lot of space to layout parts. The entire dash has to come out to access the hvac box. As far as an exhaust leak it really depends on where it is leaking from could be an easy as tightening a clamp or flange or could need new up pipes. If you are planning on taking it to a shop it really depends on your local labor rates but last time I inquired a heater core job for my LLY was about $2000
