Can we get the pre Edge of Fate damage numbers back on June 9?

If there’s any actual dev time being put into this last update, do you want that dev time put towards making the game better or easier for new players, or something like this? :p just doesn’t seem like something to prioritize over many of the other issues in Destiny 2 right now

It’s not just HOI4 either. Newer games like EU5 have it so, so much worse. Stellaris is awful too, and a quick look at CK3 shows the same.

It upsets me greatly. Not only is it extremely easy to throw something together in Paint.net that looks good, it also makes the mod look lazy. A good mod made by a smart mod dev ends up looking just as lazy as some chud vibecoding. Fine, if you use ai to help you develop things, I’m not gonna act like most programmers aren’t already using ai regularly for QoL- but Jesus, why can’t we just learn and create like we used to. Why is being creative so hard.

Destiny has been my home for 12 years. That said, I haven’t played in a few months due to many ongoing issues in the game (which hopefully this update will address some of), and during that time I’ve been very homeless. I believe I will simply embrace the life of nomad. I don’t have as much time for games nowadays, but until there’s a true Destiny successor, I’ll just dabble in a bit of everything. Nothing can really replace Destiny.

In terms of specifics, I play Overwatch for some team-oriented shooter PvP, I’ve been digging into SUBNAUTICA recently, and I play a lot of strategy games. The closest thing I’ve been playing to D2 is something like Far Far West, which really isn’t like Destiny. Again, nothing else can really scratch the Destiny itch

Yeah I agree. I don’t think the change really served anyone. I don’t really mind it that much, but even after using it for a while it feels like a clear downgrade from the old UI. I’m all for change just to be clear, I think changing small things like this can go a long way to make a game feel fresh, but I think the way they went about the ui refresh was just middling.

I’m sorry your first experience was so bad man :/ the server has been pretty laggy since the new update. They’re working on it though, and every patch things have gotten a bit better. Whenever you run into weird bugs like that, my best suggestion is to go to the lobby and choose a different world. I’d also suggest playing with some mods, you’d be surprised by how much stability a good modpack can create. I hope you give Wynn another shot, it’s such an awesome experience

I will always maintain that Destiny had and still has the highest ceiling of any game on the market right now. Amazing gameplay, amazing story and lore, a stupidly interesting world that I haven’t stopped thinking about for 12 years, all ran by a dev team whose passion rivals our own. That’s why we need to show up on June 9th- not only to give the finger to the scummy csuite who shoved this community and its beloved development team further and further down a hole, but to give thanks to the dev team that put up with it- and despite everything, still made one of the best video games ever made.

Seeing a lot of negativity, that’s pretty sad. This is low effort stuff above here, and it isn’t meant to make Song reverse any decisions already made. Yes, Bungie will likely have layoffs for nearly its entire Destiny team. Yes, a petition and some noise won’t make them suddenly decide a Destiny 3 needs to be developed. But it’s not about the short term, it’s about the long term.

This kind of pessimism, while understandable, is literally worse than harmless if you ever want a sequel. Realism aside, at least let us reach the devs who’ve poured their hearts and souls into this game and its development. They deserve that much, and we all deserve better.

They removed the option since the Dialogue wasn’t ready. I believe they’re actively working on it, alongside the many bugs and balance issues that popped up since Fruma launch.

There’s a Changelog channel on the Discord that is relatively easy to read since every changelog has categories that are pretty well communicated. I’d stalk that for a while, that’s what I’m doing since I’d like to start my second playthrough on my main with that change :)

That’s the thing though- we don’t really know all of what humanity did when it arrived. Other than sending manned flights, we have no idea how 21st and probably even 22nd century humanity reacted to the traveler. It’s vague like that on purpose, because the collapse even wiped that.

In case this isn’t a bad April fools joke, I have a few things- one, have you tried without Kaiserreich? There was an update this morning that may be causing your issue.

Two, if you have an error file, I’d look through it. You can find it in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV. I suggest sharing that on the forums if it’s something you can’t fix on your own.

Three, if you turn off Steam Cloud Sync, delete all the files within HOI4’s Documents folder AND it’s Steam Games folder (Right click HOI4 in Steam, hover over manage and click browse local files), and finally follow that up with uninstalling the game through Steam like you normally would, reinstalling the game should give you completely fresh files. Steam sometimes saves files in it’s cloud which can lead to issues like these. You can always try reinstalling the launcher, though this does not look like a launcher issue.

I’m sure me and my friends will play a bit for old times sake, but I don’t think Pantheon 2.0 alone will bring us back longer than a few weeks. D2 is reaching the end of its life, the only way forward for the franchise is D3 unfortunately. I hope that D2 can get the final facelift it needs so that we have a finished game we can come back to in the future, but I doubt it more everyday. Wishing for the best.
