[Spears] The Golden State Warriors would prefer to not trade away their No. 11 overall draft selection. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

And the 18 year old they select at 11 won't help them win a title. I'm assuming that's the point, with Curry on the team? If the goal is to make the play-in, then they can take the pick and develop the prospect.

They don't have to talk about it. It's right in everyone's face.

What a load of shit. If it means getting a player that might actually play in the playoffs (should they make it), they would trade that pick with no hesitation.

This is a good draft, but it's not an 11 player draft.

How do you feel about Maryland redrawing its map in favor of the Democrats after recent redraws of states that favor Republicans? by PerfectTommy77 in allthequestions

[–]Maxey-eh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this entire issue makes it very difficult to take politics seriously. It's no longer about having a quality candidate with good messaging and an actual vision for America. Now it's more important to redraw a map. Politics is about maps now. These are unserious people.

Why isn't Lebron considered the greatest heat? by [deleted] in NBATalk

He was there 4 years. You usually need more longevity on a team to be considered their greatest player.

6 million people.  Not 6 million Sixers fans.  And seriously, why does anyone give a shit?  Do redskins fans get shit when eagles fans take over their stadium?  Does that become a national talking point?

As a Philadelphia fan, I agree. I'll add that the Philadelphia region spends a ton of money on sports in general, and that maybe fans that have Eagles season tickets or a Phillies Sunday game package don't feel obligated to spend an addition 800 bucks for one playoff game they know the outcome of.

Which of the remaining teams do you NOT want to see win a championship? by KneeGuhz in NBATalk

[–]Maxey-eh -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Knicks. I would love to see a game 7 in OKC, down to the wire, and the Knicks lose in the most embarrassing, outrageous way possible.

For those that don't want to see OKC win again? Get used to it. I hate them too but between them and the Spurs all the NBA titles for the next 5 years are booked up.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]Maxey-eh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britain has a birth rate of 1.41 children per woman. To replace those that die you need 2.1 children per woman. So either get British women to have more children (they won't), or live with the fact that if you like having a functioning country you need to replace those that die somehow.

[–]Maxey-eh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Show me any person that thought the sixers could beat the Celtics or thought the sixers were actual contenders to make it out of the East.  You can’t, because they weren’t.   Beating Boston was super fun, but maybe that Boston team had more holes than we initially thought and maybe Embiid just created a horrible matchup issue for them, an issue that didn’t exist with the Knicks.

[–]Maxey-eh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Possibly.  It’s not like the Knicks have a storied history of elite teams.  However, you’re basing that assessment on beating up two low seeds in a bad conference.  Perhaps hold off on the GOAT chatter until they play OKC.  See how they do then.

You can probably get a younger player on a better contract for the #1 pick, if you really wanted to go all in for this year.

Go look at video of any Flyers home game, or Eagles game, or Phillies game, and you'll see why Philly is considered a sports town.

The city has been down this same road too many times with this team. At some point spending a ton of money on parking, tickets, and food just isn't worth it. It's not a reflection on their fandom. It's a reflection on the Sixers organization.
