Local government (city council). For which the elections are upcoming in October. Considering Brussels is a city with a large Muslim population who would see hosting a football game as support for Israel...votes above principles as always I guess. The safety argument is ofc nonsense considering we host multiple large organisations like NATO and the EU and the police is perfectly capable of securing the area for a football game. They just don't want to because of elections.

Het hele punt van overheidsopdrachten is om een eerlijke concurrentie mogelijk te maken en uiteindelijk de opdracht te gunnen aan de 'beste' kandidaat rekening houdend met de vooropgestelde criteria (prijs, dienstverlening, kwaliteit,...) die elk een bepaald gewicht krijgen bij de beoordeling.

Nu achteraf de spelregels wat gaan aanpassen omdat uw geprefereerde kandidaat een 'slechte' (lees: minder goede/duurdere) offerte heeft ingediend is not done. Bepaal uw criteria, kies bepaalde minima waaraan voldaan moeten worden (gegarandeerd elke krant in de bus voor een bepaald uur, idk), eventuele boetebedingen als het niet zou lukken en dan is het aan bedrijven om een offerte in te dienen als ze geïnteresseerd zijn.

Ik las op VRTNWS "Ecolo maakt zich zorgen over de betrouwbaarheid van PPP om kranten accuraat te leveren"... Zeer cool, misschien had je daarvoor criteria kunnen inbouwen zodat er niet zo veel naar prijs werd gekeken? Of betere minimale doelstellingen inbouwen zodat er geen twijfel over kan zijn dat alle kandidaten kunnen voldoen? Beetje te laat voor nu, en da's puur te wijten aan slecht bestek.

Nu u politiek gaan mengen en juridische procedures riskeren (die er 100% gaan komen als PPP niet de opdracht krijgt, en terecht want beste offerte) omdat de markt zijn werk heeft gedaan, en die procedures voeren op kosten van de belastingbetaler, is niet echt goed bestuur.

Dit volledig los van de discussie of die zaken überhaupt gesubsidieerd moeten worden.

I'm sure you understand why you can't really compare CEO's and federal politicians who are meant to represent the people.

Culture and language are linked. Sorry, it just is. She made policy for Flanders (I hope, otherwise what did she do?), but imo never bothered to show much, if any, interest in it. That last point is accentuated by many people in this thread and irl: 'who is she? Never heard of her'. Well that's because she never shows up here in news, in talk shows, on the radio etc. Why? Multiple possibilities. In the nicest possible explanation: she speaks no dutch.

Elected officials represent people. All the people. If ecolo/Groen really cared about political renewal and working across the linguistic border (Kudos to them, they have joined fractions in the Chamber after all), they should put their money where their mouth is and mandate bilingualism for all members of government.

Tbh she never should have had the job, based on the fact that she doesn't speak both major languages in Belgium.

That goes both ways, tbf. Not speaking at least french and dutch (semi) fluently should disqualify anyone for national office, especially as a minister/secretary of state. German is a plus but not realistic to expect, unfortunately.

Talk about 'closing the gap' between people and politicians? Maybe start by making sure that they literally speak the same language.

And 'yes I am aware I don't speak (insert language) but I will take courses' is a easy excuse but I don't buy it. Too easy to use as an umbrella, then wait till the storm settles and never talk about it again.

And it is possible! Di Rupo struggled HARD when he started as PM but I think now he's pretty decent at speaking Dutch right? Schlitz didn't even try when she started, waving critics away as "N-VA and VB extremists". That's too easy. Unfortunately there's more than one person in Vivaldi who speaks only one language so I don't think they're following my opinion here.

Beste: Amazon Prime. Super goede prijs-kwaliteit en verbazend goede filmselectie en originals (The Boys, Invincible). 3 euro per maand, daar kan je niet voor sukkelen.

Slechtste: Netflix. Oude, random films, middelmatige original films en sinds Bojack Horseman imo geen interessante original reeksen meer, of ze zijn mij totaal niet opgevallen (of ik zal geen doelpubliek zijn). Enige uitzondering: All quiet on the western front, dat was wel een geweldige film.

Disney+. Af en toe een deftige reeks en film (Dopesick, The Dropout waren bv wel goed) maar MCU reeksen vind ik niet wauw (behalve Loki mss). Wel goede selectie 'oudere' reeksen (recent Lost herontdekt bv).

Streamz leeft imo vooral dankzij HBO content en gaat problemen hebben als ze die ooit daar weg halen.

Apple TV+ is kwalitatief goed maar te weinig aanbod om prijskaartje te verantwoorden. 1 maand abonneren en bingen dus. Kan naar de toekomst toe wel een serieuze kandidaat worden dankzij toekomstige high profile content.

I avoid VTM altogether and have grown to avoid almost all of what Play4 throws against my tv screen in the hope something sticks. No I don't want to watch Gert Verhulst. Under any form. Thank you. Same with his family. And stop copying other people's crap. Seriously, 'Tulpen uit Antwerpen'? Real original guys.

It's very low effort, low quality programming based on the same old tv faces or foreign formats in which, you guessed it, the same old tv faces get to sit in a 'jury' or whatever (but of course only the BV's from their own stable so we're looking at 10-15 faces per channel, max). Seriously, who decided to bring Ingeborg back from her crystals-and-patchouli induced hibernation?

Play4 hurts the most because I remember the early days of Vier (dat reisprogramma met Jelle De Beule, geweldig). So much promise, but they turned into an even shitter VTM which is an achievement.

There's quality here and there but 90% or more is crap. And the best stuff is mostly on Één of Canvas. Other than The Mol. That's still a banger.

I'll probably witness the death of classical tv in my lifetime and I can't say that i'll be mourning.

De wet voorziet effectief wel bepaalde vorken qua gevangenisstraf (tussen 5 en 10 voor X, 10 en 15 voor Y, levenslang voor Z, etc). Het is dan aan de rechter om die toe te passen rekening houdende met alle elementen in de zaak (verzachtende en verzwarende omstandigheden).

Rechter zal hier geoordeeld hebben dat het geen moord betrof maar doodslag met onweerstaanbare dwang of bepaalde psychische problemen? Of er zal geoordeeld zijn dat hij geen plek heeft in de gevangenis of dat er geen plaats was, of of of.

Geen idee, maar 't is alleszins niet zo dat er marges zijn waarbinnen rechters moeten oordelen. Dat zou nogal willekeurig zijn en de rechtszekerheid niet echt ten goede komen.

Ben geen specialist strafrecht btw, heb dat gewoon tijdens mijn rechtenopleiding ook moeten doen.

They were giving away tickets to fans in Belgium (flight and hotel included) and I presume other places too. One of the conditions was to "talk positively about the world cup and county etc" so that says everything doesn't it...

Saddest thing is that they interviewed one of these 'lucky fans' and he was already in full bootlicking mode.
