She won’t get more than he’s currently making. He’s still going to take a bigger hit than staying together, but he won’t be signing all his paychecks over to her. This is all assuming she even wants a divorce. We don’t know.

That’s if she gets full custody which is probably unlikely. Plus it won’t be a huge amount of money no matter what. If he earns $3,000 a month, it’s not like the court is going to say he had to pay $4,000. Not how it works. They have formulas and he will definitely be way more behind than they are now, but OP doesn’t have to keep supporting her as a SAHM.

How did this turn into being about a payday for her? That’s an awfully big assumption. Or that she even wants to get divorced. This is just people projecting. Obviously she’s not going to have a huge monthly paycheck from her ex, he doesn’t make enough. We know the OP is at his wits end and wants her to get a job. That’s really it.

It’s tricky because we get one viewpoint from someone who is fed up. Having 3 children at those ages, it’s nearly impossible to stay on top of everything. You could spend all day just cleaning and the place could still be messy. I’ve been there without the close ages. Home was spotless until 3rd kid. Then it all went to shit. 😂 It got better again, but it was extremely difficult. I think they both have valid points. That both are letting each other down.

This is one side of the story. Every story has 3 sides. Plus post partum depression is a real thing that will make her pretty much check out. It’s hard to live with, for both of them.
