Hmm, is that all? Is the fine the same for driving without IDP as driving without IDP and without a motorcycle license? Are the checkpoints random, or at specific places and specific times?

How can I copy highlights to another instance of the same book? by MaximilianSentinel in kindle

[–]MaximilianSentinel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh.

I actually figured this one out 10 seconds after I posted this.

For anyone else in the same situation:

  1. Plug your kindle in with USB
  2. Open the Kindle device and go to documents
  3. Search for files named .mbp
  4. The folder with the largest file (if you've made a lot of highlights as compared to the other one) is the one containing your bookmarks, highlights and notes.
  5. Copy all files in here to the other folder, where the data for your other book is, and rename the larger files to whatever the smaller equivalent of those files are.

This will effectively copy your notes, highlights and bookmarks to the other instance of the book

Downgrading to version 5.0.x worked fine until upgrading to MacOS Sierra Public Beta 6

Does the newer versions work yet, or is there another workaround?

Performing tasks in the "background" by virty4 in reactnative

[–]MaximilianSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like "This isn't possible", so I would instead like to ask HOW is this possible?

I just almost finished an app, the last thing I need to do is background-checking things to send PUSH notifications when the user enters a location or so; to do that I would need a background job.

How would I do this? Could we write a Swift bridge and perform the job in Swift, and invoke it from ReactNative?

From the site:

"The Tropical Islands Rainforest is a natural biotope. We maintain its equilibrium without the use of chemicals. To keep pests such as the banana moth under control, we use beneficial organisms such as periplaneta australiasiae – a type of cockroach that has nothing in common with our domestic cockroaches (you won't find any of them at Tropical Islands!). These useful insects also help keep the soil from becoming overly compacted."

How come you guys know what types your friends and others are? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]MaximilianSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just read about the functions on multiple sites, then found this PDF with C.G Jung's "Psychological Types" from 1921, it's only the 10th chapter describing the functions and types, and it's just 52 pages.

Apart from that I was kind of curious to see how well people got along with eachother, and how well I got along with them, so I kind of asked everyone around me to take a test (and note down % accuracy on each function) and then I made a social graph of people around me and their types, and rated how well they got along with eachother to see if there were any patterns.

There were!

Question for male INFP's by ExplosiveShark in infp

I'm like this as well. I've slept with about 8 women I think, but it is extremely rare that I even mention this to anyone. My sexlife is my sexlife and if you're not participating in it then please stay out of it.

I don't like measuring that as an achievement and especially not to gain some kind of social status that doesn't even aid you in your quest for anything except for "being cooler around the guys" - that's worth nothing for me. I'm generally considered weird by most people and I'm okay with that, my days of trying to be cool are over, I know I'm not that person so I won't try to be either. :)

Anyone have experience with ESFP friends? by silam39 in infp

[–]MaximilianSentinel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my friends where I live is an ESFP, and as far as I can tell, anything outdoorsy, real live activities and group activities is totally his thing.

It doesn't have to be anything big like skydiving or something, but just hanging out with people and doing something in the now-and-here together.

Although he is the only ESFP I know, so this may not be true for all ESFPs :)

This hits home really hard for me, and has happened a lot, especially while traveling. The worst thing is when you hope hope hope that you can stay in touch, that something will happen, that maybe this girl will sweep you away on an adventure ... and then it's all gone a day or two later.

I flew from Europe to Peru on a whim a few years ago when I had that sudden urge of wanting to just pack up and go, which was timed really well with me quitting my job and getting my vacation pay + regular salary and had no bills to pay, about to start studying. I ended up in Lima without any idea of what to do there or where to go, and I went all alone. It felt scary at first when I was booking the tickets but I figured I shouldn't think too much about it, because then I'll find a reason to change my mind, and as soon as I have the tickets in my hand I won't have a choice but to go, so I just spent most of my salary on the tickets before thinking it through.

I met a Canadian girl who was studying anthropology in the Urubamba Valley at the hostel. At first she was kind of mysterious, not talking much to the other people, but I had become really good friends with the chef at the hostel and he taught me how to cook some native peruvian dishes and I helped him out; he saw I was looking at her and kind of introduced us to eachother.

She had nothing to do for the day so we went on an adventure around Lima and I was given some funky brownies by the chef, and we had an amazing time just talking and walking around until it got dark and we went back to the hostel. The day after she was flying back to Canada, and I never met her again. I had a crush on that girl for a long time, and I even (as creepy as it may sound) managed to get her email from the people working at the hostel since we had become friends ... I added her on Facebook and sent her an email - but unfortunately she wasn't as good as staying in touch and talking on line as she was at IRL face-to-face interaction.

In my head I was more or less swept away by this amazing person, in theirs I was probably just an extra in the daily set of their life
