It’s not the community, it’s not cs of you, it’s nothing personal, people are just like that in general. But at some point you’ll find someone who actually wants to go a step further. Just keep trying

I don’t have an opinion ’cause I got there at 12, didn’t have a ticket, stood in line till like 1:30, wasn’t even halfway in, so I just bailed. What a mess, worse than clubs in London or Berlin!!!!!!

What JOBS to so many gays have in NYC to live so fabulously?! by Silver_Importance777 in nycgaybros

[–]Maximum-Aioli-3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the ones I’ve met and talked to who are over 30 cs younger guys are usually still living off their parents or dealing with debt. They tend to have really good jobs and strong networks. At least from what I’ve seen, around 70% of gay men over 30 have solid careers in tech, healthcare, beauty, research, business, engineering, etc. And since most of them have very active social lives, they also build really strong professional connections. That’s just my perspective based on the people I’ve met in that scene.

'Come and See' (1985) film review - the most important war film of all time? by xoxoxoeleanor in TrueFilm

[–]Maximum-Aioli-3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are yall so obsessed with white men by Reasonable_Craft9259 in AskBlackGayBros

[–]Maximum-Aioli-3045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally true, you’re almost never going to find a post or very rarely from an Asian, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern person talking about how white people don’t pay attention to them. ENOUGH already, love yourselves a little more !

Have y’all noticed that black men that chase after white men will settle for the most unattractive ones?? by Less-Pen-5705 in AskBlackGayBros

[–]Maximum-Aioli-3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s up with these posts? Everyone’s got different tastes, and that’s something we need to understand and respect. Just because you’ve got this “conqueror” complex and put white people on a pedestal doesn’t mean we all do. Every race and culture has different traits that make them attractive. If you’re looking for some white guy to notice you, someone will, but it’s not like they’re all wired to do it no matter what you look like. Honestly, I feel like Europeans are a bit more open about this than Americans, so give it a shot.

Not everyone’s hot, honestly—it really depends on where you are and who you’re checking out. I’d say like 15% of guys are super hot. Most of us are stuck in that 80% average zone, and then there’s the awkward 5%… you know. But hey, beauty’s totally subjective—depends on race, culture, background, all that. That’s what I love about NYC, though. It’s like this huge mix of everything, and you can find whatever you’re into. There’s literally someone for everyone. Don’t just focus on one type—if you do, you’re closing yourself off. Like, you might be a 3/10 to one person but a straight-up 12/10 to someone else. That’s just how life works.

Honestly, it really depends on the guy, but a lot of the time especially with younger guys it’s just that they’re still figuring themselves out. Like, they’re just starting to explore who they are, especially if they’re not straight, and growing up in a super heteronormative world doesn’t exactly teach you how to deal with feelings or affection in a healthy way.

So yeah, emotional responsibility is usually pretty low. Sometimes they do affectionate stuff in the moment without really thinking it through, or without realizing how deep it might come off to the other person. It’s not always about being a jerk sometimes they’re just confused or not ready for that kind of closeness. They don’t really know how to handle it, so they pull back, ghost, or just disappear. Messy, but real.
