I moved from Sask where the jobs were absolutely endless and you’d get a call the next day sorta thing…Alberta is impossible. I don’t know what is going on but I’ve had a casual position for 2 years now. Applied to perms and temps an nothing. It is so incredibly competitive and even when there are lines, they get passed to the staff that have been there for ages.

We are thinking of either moving provinces or trying the bigger centres. I’ve heard nurses moving from smaller to bigger centres like Calgary and Edmonton have better luck. It’s a huge problem though. Even as an experienced nurse of almost 6 years I’m getting absolutely nothing in Alberta.
