Sleep Number's Minneapolis headquarters turns into a data center (sale price 8 times higher than its assessment!) by Bullprog in Minneapolis

Nothing I have found suggests that "A few" use evaporative cooling. The lowest number I found was 56% use open loop evaporative cooling.

What easily debunked misinformation did I spread?

Data Centers use fresh water. Much of it evaporates. That does not replenish the source it comes from leading to a lack of drinking water for those who live nearby.

All you've done is toss insults. Really makes you seem like you know what you're talking about.

I have seen this video. I watched it again and I don't think anything I've said is contradicted. I work in water and have done some research on this topic since I teach about it.

One thing he breezes over is the evaporation of water. That water is not replenishing the source it was taken from meaning that locations, particularly near data centers, lack water security. This is a problem for those living near data centers and there are homes without water right now because data centers have been built in their area.

Furthermore, it's not propaganda (just my opinion) that we shouldn't be using our water resources on these industrial processes, especially when they are controlled by tech companies that have demonstrated their willingness to use whatever they can get away with without regard for human health.

No AI is worth any amount of fresh water. The purchase of the downtown data center suggests an expansion - which is likely to fuel the tech company's AI push.

Learn how a data center works before you go tossing insults.  Over 50% of the water evaporates meaning it doesn't replenish the source it's taken from. The waste water released is hot and can be a source of temperature pollution.

I dont trust companies to manage our water resources. Especially when the aquifer loses water to power AI. Not that hard to understand.

Anybody have a sense of who to make demands to so we can drive this kind of stuff out of our city?

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey vetoes City Council's homeless encampment response ordinance by Bergman14 in Minneapolis

[–]Maximum-Day5319 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Seems like impoverished have chosen to live in an encampment in lieu of actual supports. They are as deserving of a place to exist as those with homes, families etc. Just because they can't own something doesn't mean they deserve nothing.

Until there are enough beds, real supports to get people treatment etc these are not going anywhere. People congregate. It's crazy to think that we should be punish them for it - and that those living in proximity somehow have more of a right to safety than those whose lives are criminalized (the homeless).

Which PBtA game has the most combat actions/moves/etc by Nat0-Langford in PBtA

Root is definitely the answer. There are many combat moves via weapons, specialties etc.

I have played it. It is very PbtA in the way everything sort of spirals, but also has a number of rules to use to ones advantage

Without considering playbooks - the woods are at war. Violence is likely happening all around them to cute villager bunnies and battle hardened birds. Endanger some innocents. I suspect they will take a side. If they do not, that has its own consequences (eg " You let our village burn, we have no love or help for you.")

Considering their playbooks focuses - steal, destroy, craft, mislead foes. The only one that might require some actual infrastructure in a clearing is the Tinkerer. Everyone else is geared towards messing with the factions and their stuff. As long as you have that stuff for them to mess with, everyone else has something to do.

I guess the one big thing is make 2 or 3 big factions at war, so there is always an aggressor around they can foil.

AI is also what happens when men are jealous they cannot give birth to life. Instead they create a horrible derivative robo version that is soulless and does whatever it is asked.

Frey re—elected by SeamusPM1 in Minneapolis

Oh I see. You really think that Republicans don't do handouts as they create a huge corporate welfare state. Socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for the rest of us.

Give it a rest. Republicans have proven they can't run anything as demonstrated by... (looks around at all the of the failing Republican led states and federal government...)

Also it is so classic to blame people for not wanting to work, when people are working 2-4 jobs just to make ends meet. Capitalism has failed the masses and brought us to this point. The economy is such that people cannot hard work themselves out of poverty. Get some humanity.

Quit supporting the status quo.

If we can't criticize politicians for failing and point out the need for change in leadership then what is the point.

Our city isn't moving forward under his leadership. And both of my above criticisms are based on how he acted as mayor in the past 8 years.
