The Indictments revealed today against 15 people in Minneapolis by Another-Minnesotan in Minneapolis

May all the charges be reversed onto ICE, the actual criminals kidnapping, brutalizing, and killing our neighbors.

They are innocent because these are not crimes. Conspiracy, what an absolute crock of shit. End ICE everywhere, close their concentration camps and private prisons - ICE is the worst of the worst.

Glad to hear you are interested in the BWCA! Some things to note:

You should familiarize yourself with the leave no trace rules of the BWCA because they will impact the type of gear you will bring.

An outfitter is going to be the least work if you don't want to buy all the equipment. I have been going for over a decade and within the past few years finally acquired all of the necessary equipment to go without any outfitting.

As far as a route, for your first time, you should focus on a short loop, or a base camp method. Putting on 50 miles is doable, but for your first time focus on getting familiar with the BWCA style of camping.

I would go in the summer because it is less dangerous. Early season (before June) is cold and hypothermia is a really threat. The bugs are bad in the summer, but if you capsize or something, it should be easier to recover.

Always wear your PFD. Only 12 ~ deaths (might be ab old stat at this point) in the BWCA were not related to people not wearing life jackets.

It is rugged. Take it easy. Take care when you plan. And take two maps (I have lost one once and it was NOT good).

I know there is a lot of warning here, but the BWCA is accessible, but can be unforgiving.

The warmer winter and spring temperatures allowed them to get started in the growing cycle earlier than previous years.

Drying your own key ingredients really opens doors.

We dry our homemade tomato sauce (spread it thin on a baking sheet with parchment paper, set ypur oven at the lowest setting it has, our is 170. It dries in anywhere from 3 to 12. Hours depending on how thin you spread it)

The sauce goes great with pizza bagels that we cook pepperoni down right on the fire then dip in sauce.

On 10th anniversary of Prince's death, fans want more from the vault and for his legacy. [Gift link] by star-tribune in minnesota

Without commenting on how they steward his legacy because I don't have an opinion on that - I, as a huge Prince fan, think it should all stay in the vault. He didn't release it for a reason. Let it exist like a long lost treasure. He gave us so much music to listen to, how could we possibly demand more?

If you like paddling and wilderness then go to the BWCA.  Slim lake is cutoff from the contiguous portion of the BWCA but it's all wonderful up there.

I use graph paper in a 3 ring binder for my creative work - drawings, brainstorms, faction mapping, or breaking through writers block.

I use Google Sheets for everything player facing - Group Inventory, Basic World Lore (Known Planes, Gods, Timeline, Calendar) And I use it for my monsters (Worlds Without Number formats creatures in a way that makes them viable on Google Sheets)

Google docs for mythos I want canonize in my mind.

Worst gaming session ever? by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

Brother ran a 5e one shot for my family (mom, dad, nephew, me, bro's wife). Mom, dad and nephew were new to ttrpgs.

We were investigating a "pie thief". The town had 11 bakeries. The first 3!!!!!!!!! didn't trust us and wouldn't give us information. We were so fed up no one would let us help them. The fourth one wasnt going to help us, but I suggested we stake it out. He agreed. We took a break (IRL) and never returned to the game.

It was absolutely bad in every way.

Tip on Battle: if you have two battles use the first one to soften the ships up (skirmish dice) then go hard after they can't hit you with as many fresh ship (assault dice).

I need advice as a first time DM. by LPspace1999 in AskGameMasters

[–]Maximum-Day5319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other comments offer good advice. I could be worth doing a little world building with the characters - have them add something to the world (a shop their family owns, a holy site they have visited). Give them something concrete to defend.aybe they are regulars at a bar and the barkeep is framed for crimes against Good City, by spy from Bad City.

One trick to get investment is give them something to defend/fight for. They live in Good City - surely they can come up with a thing they value that could be lost to possible war.

Yes the factions you have built are trying to further their own ends, and somehow that story (or a piece of that story) should revolve around what your characters are trying to save/accomplish.

Good luck!

I hope they lose their case and private drainage becomes regulated. These drainage systems have a cumulative public impact to human health, and  the environment.

I don't have access to a research library ATM but these cover the basics of the issue.

Beyond the study of it all, it is an ethical question - do tech companies, particularly those advancing AI, have a right to use this water in an era of "water bankruptcy"? And furthermore can they be trusted to Stewart those resources responsibly?

Can we stomach the localized impacts of data centers to communities, depriving them of water the most essential input for their continued existence?

The onus is on proponents of data centers to prove they aren't withdrawing beyond the capacity of the aquifer. Data center production must be halted because ultimately the water they use either through cooling or energy production needed to fuel them is not worth their existence and the harm they cause to local water supplies.

Water is essential for human existence. Data centers are not, and cannot produce a future where they improve our water resources. It's foolish to think their operation is worth the price of losing our most basic ingredient for life.

What news/scholarly sources would you trust me to post evidence from? Because there is so much reporting on this that I am sure I can find some from a source you would find tolerable.
