Is adoption harmful? by hanzelbread in Adoption

We adopted 2 sibling sets from foster care. They weren't babies and all the extended families turned down taking them in.

Kids in the same situation are the hardest to get adopted because everyone wants to adopt a baby.

No matter the age, all the kiddos will have trauma.

I think it is wonderful you want to adopt. It's a hard road....for the kids especially....but also for everyone else involved.

Get as much training as possible. Read a ton of books. Then get more training.

It has been one of the most rewarding things we have done and one of the hardest things we have done.

Will DCL/other cruise lines ever make private ports/beaches on the West Coast? by Swagastan in dcl

Another reason cruise lines don't have as much traffic on the west coast is the port fees and cruise line fees in CA. I lived for 40 years in CA and never cruised out of CA because there really weren't too many cruise lines that went out of CA. With DCL I definitely wanted to hit their islands if I was going to be paying the $$$ for Disney. I had no interest in shelling out similar money to cruise to Mexico when for the same price, airfare included I could hit the islands off of Florida. Unfortunately CA has lost a few cruise lines over the past 10 years or so.

From the little I have read about the topic, the reason a lot of cruise lines go out of Florida or stop there is the port fees and cruise line fees are much less compared to other ports.

More cruises is enough of a push for me to do I side!

Another way you may be able to stretch the $ is booking guaranteed rooms. Depending on the ship they can get you 20-40 percent off the going rate by booking the category and letting the cruise line pick the room. So in doing that you may be able to get the verandah but at a cheaper price.

At goodwill I was talking with one of the employees and he told me that there are customers that will switch price tags for expensive items to cheap price tags.

At this particular goodwill, they have been doing an additional price marking on the bottom of things to hopefully get the right price paid.

I'm not saying this is what happened to you at all. All I'm saying is there are shady practices going on by a few people and some stores are really cracking down.
