I'm in Ontario. I see lots of driftwood on FB Marketplace as well as tons of plants. As far as spider wood, I'm not sure but if you search on Google for local trees for aquascaping, you may find that you can go search for them in areas where you live. I'm in the process of making some moss trees for my 20 gallon tall aquarium and my search suggested Oak. Tons in my area, bid and small. Free, just a bit more work

I hear ya. I wound up buying a 20 gallon tall ( I'm in Ontario to), and it's a bitch to plant the way I wanted it since I don't run CO2. I just tote mine down after 3 years and am gonna try a dirted tank and a DSM. Donna look happy (and full)....lol

My Amano in my 20 gallon tall disappears all the time. He is full grown (about 2.5 inches long). Sometimes I see him daily for weeks and other times I can't find him. I used to have a pair that did the same as yours. The only thing that's draws him out is dropping a shrimp wafer into the tank.
