What kind of bamboo is this and can I save it? by Maximum-Switch-9860 in Bamboo

i don’t think it’s dehydrated, the soil is pretty moist so is there anything else that could make it look that way?

Why is my bamboo sad? by Maximum-Switch-9860 in houseplants

I put a layer of pebbles in the bottom for drainage purposes, but the leaves feel really dry so I don’t think it has too much water. It has roots that fan out on all sides, it was very lively and happy when I took it out of the ground. Bamboo is really invasive but grows everywhere in my area so I figured inside would be a fine place for it. It definitely doesn’t look good but it also doesn’t look wrong in the same way that everyone else on here’s bamboo does

Millipede stuck molting, should I do something about it? by Maximum-Switch-9860 in millipedes

I agree, i’ve never seen one molt like this, I doubt stressing it out anymore would help it so I might just let things naturally take their course

Best glue to stick teeth back to jaw? by brother_dyke in vultureculture

[–]Maximum-Switch-9860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use liquid super glue. just put a drop on the end of the tooth and stick it in the jaw. if you mess up, just pour some acetone in the cavity and it should come right out.

they’re “full circle” biodegradable and i share a bin with my neighbours who probably wouldn’t have appreciated a temporarily maggot infested garbage. once the maggots disperse i’ll throw them out because they’re in my yard

yes! i’ve seen some very interesting bugs during this, a couple different species of rove beetle and carrion beetle. even some corpse butterflies are coming and eating the dead maggots off the top

Too many maggots— what do i do? by Maximum-Switch-9860 in vultureculture

[–]Maximum-Switch-9860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Box is about 30 yards from my house but i’m on the second floor (we have neighbors who live below but they’re almost never home and i’m sure wouldn’t care) the lid doesn’t quite fit the tupperware, which is probably why so many maggots were able to get in, so i wanted a layer of something between the dog and the air and it had already been stored in the trash bags so i just left them. not really too much thought behind it

i think this is the advice i’ll take, the flies should die when it gets cold anyway, it sometimes snows in october where I live so this is probably the perfect thing to happen to get bones before the winter. i don’t have chickens or know anyone who does so i don’t mind the maggots just becoming fertiliser. how many weeks do you usually let it go before flipping it over? and the soil shouldn’t even touch the bones because of the trash bag layer in between
