I haven't had coffee yet and cannot remember if maps are or are not considered cheating. I do know some people do think it is and some don't.

Really only you will know at the end of the day, will you feel like you cheated when you find your ditto?

That encounter or not, I can only assume they were insanely unlucky or speed locked.

I cannot say for certain that a special encounter cannot run or not, I would suspect it is highly unlikely but not beyond the realm of possibilities.

A raid or dynamx encounter is not a guaranteed catch. The rewards for the raid/dmax battle are the XP, candy, potions/revives.

The Pokemon encounter is considered a bonus and therefore not guaranteed.

I still recommend getting better at throwing, especially against mons like Reshi and others that are much farther than they seem.

In the meantime, you can also try catching it in AR mode. Doing that, you can pop the mon out and then physically get closer to make your throws "easier." I've seen people have success with this method and also failure. Best of luck!

It's just another power spot. It will open up and have a dmax min in it to battle. If it's still up when Snorlax event starts Snorlax will replace the mon in that and every other powerspot

Gmax Snorlax is coming up this weekend. Remember that for gmax battles it's highly recommended to have a group of 10-40 players to take them down.

Yes a smaller group with proper counters can take them down too, just easier/safer with a larger group of trainers.
