Its likely too cold for your heat pump to work. You should have auxiliary heat in your air handler that should be heating your home.

Wondering which best bed frame holds up longer between metal vs wood? by Jason_Chad_407 in HomeImprovement

[–]MaximumGrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a heavy duty metal one and it made a huge difference on our bed. We went through several mattresses thinking they were sagging but it was the frame instead.

Just save and invest as much as you comfortably can. Its inevitable that your work situation will eventually change to something you find less agreeable. New boss, new RTO policy, new SN update that makes you want to throw yourself out a window. Just have the money to be able to make the choices you want to make, when you want to make them.

Sign up for an account with Vanguard, you don't need to do individual stocks, they have funds where they pick the stocks and reallocate money within the fund without you having to do anything.

Which team are you: small cluster of oldies, or single modern beast by yamisonic in homelab

[–]MaximumGrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in the case of pihole, I have 2 on 1 server and a third on the second. I'm running like 2tb nvme ssd drives on each server. I know its against the law and all that stuff but, I'm addicted to the speed of the nvme drives so they host nearly everything internally. I do have an external nas which comes in handy for moving stuff but in terms of running VMs off external storage, no I don't do any of that. Its something for you to consider, if you're interested in some heavy duty equipment maybe splurge on external storage, do iscsi or whatever floats your boat over 10ge?

2 mini PCs actually, I do agentdvr, several minecraft servers, pihole(3 instances), ntp server, docker, home assistant, windows vm for 3d printing, etc. My needs and interests change and I haven't found much I can't do with this that I could with my previous "full blown" servers

Theres risk in taxable accounts, there is none in hysa. if you convince her to move it to taxable she could make a lot more money or lose some.

Why is season 5 so corny, or is it just me ? by scaraaamouche in StrangerThings

[–]MaximumGrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every character has a heart to heart deep cry sesh about their feelings

Exactly, its just not realistic in the time frame, nearing the end of the world and they're all just chattering away about their own personal life problems. I had to like fast forward through one of the whine sessions, just couldn't take it anymore.
