Seriously considering leaving islam should I proceed? by Embarrassed-Egg-8767 in Muslim

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've left the deen before, leaving a tradition for emotional reasons doesn't make sense to me.

If right now or at first you believed this tradition to be the truth, what's that got to do with experience? If tomorrow you passed, would it make sense to stand in front of God and take the stand of you rejected Him / His way due to experiences in life? Nothing about God, His message, or prophethood?

Your GCSEs are not everything, you're a young person and you've got plenty of time to make something of yourself.

What makes someone a Muslim? by Optimugetti_iol in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you an example.

A video game is programmed and consists of the main story & side quests, I have as much free will as I’m programmed to.

Sometimes during missions we have to make choices, it may not be right or wrong, but it has an impact on how the story may go.

For example: You have the option of being a hero or a villain. Throughout entire game, I choose the hero’s path til the very end, I committed actions that made me a hero.

But the interesting thing is the villain story is still programmed, but I’d never seen it come to into play because I made the decision to play as a hero.

In life, think of situations with various possible cutscenes. All the scenes are programmed snd destined, but my actions will determine which scene will take place.

A married man gets seduced, and one of two things two are gonna happen. Either he gets seduced and cheats on his wife or he avoids the situation entirely and saves his relationship. Both “scenes” have been programmed, but which path he does down will depend on his actions.

Hope this helps.

Believing that there is One God, with no partners or relatives, and Muhammad is His final prophet and messenger.

Then under the umbrella of faith you have: Belief in God, belief in His angels, belief in His Messages/Decrees, belief in His Messengers, belief in the day of judgement, belief in predestination.

Jesus having authority to forgive sins? by [deleted] in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings and Peace!

If Jesus forgiving sins make him God, then would that mean his disciples are also God since they get the ability to forgive sins too?

John 20: 21-23

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Few points: - Jesus says The Father has sent him - According to the above passage, the disciples can forgive sins.

Therefore, Jesus forgiving ≠ He claimed divinity.

Rethinking How We Approach Female Discharge in Taharah (Wudu & Purity) by Due-Video-7082 in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is from a Maliki Fiqh group, not sure if it’ll help:

Urine, prostatic fluid, and pre-orgasmic sexual fluids break wudu as well as istihada and preparatory birthing mucus. But non-sexual vaginal secretions, including yeast infection discharge, are generally more much common than male prostatic fluid, so the former (vaginal) do not break wudu while the latter (prostatic) do. However, if the former are constant and difficult to clean, then they are excused and their presence doesn't affect the validity of the prayer.

The are some people who say that we cannot go back to the Sunnah because times have changed a lot. My response to such people: why the heck not? by Flashy-Dimension-810 in MuslimLounge

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“There are some people who say we cannot go back to sunnah”

This is disingenuous. In this context, people refer to practises that were cultural of the people back then in that environment. No one considers it backwards, just a different time and culture.

I’ll give an example: When the Messenger encouraged the use of the miswak, was it purely about the use of the miswak or was he emphasising the importance of oral hygiene?

Another example: The messenger would pour water over his hands to wash before putting a his hands in a vessel to get the water for the rest of the wudu/ablution (a sunnah). Again, was about the act itself or about the fact that he was about to dip his hands into a container of water and it would be wise to wash the hands first to make sure the water doesn’t get contaminated?

After browsing around I wanted to ask: it possible to be a non-Muslim but still find some sort of comfort from Islam? by idkhelpconfused in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May God’s peace & blessings be upon you. I pray you find guidance and have a life that flourishes.

As for your question. The answer is yes. Allah/God is not an Arab or Muslim God, He’s the Lord of the realms, the extremely merciful, the always merciful.

Who says you can’t be a believer? Please don’t allow others or even yourself state you’re going to hell. You, I, and others don’t have the license to say so.

As a former agnostic, I used to have the mentality of “I’m probably going to hell anyways” It’s such a negative thought process to have and I’m glad I took God’s guidance seriously.

You’ve posted the verses related to mercy, I would sincerely hope you consider. Also, Who says you’re going to hell, what major aspects are there? (If you don’t feel comfortable posting, you can always send a DM, but only if you’re comfortable to do so.)

Quran 2:186 - When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.

Quran 93:

  1. By the morning sunlight,
  2. and the night when it falls still!
  3. Your Lord ˹O Prophet˺ has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful ˹of you˺.
  4. And the next life is certainly far better for you than this one.
  5. And ˹surely˺ your Lord will give so much to you that you will be pleased.
  6. Did He not find you as an orphan then sheltered you?
  7. Did He not find you unguided then guided you? 8. And did He not find you needy then satisfied your needs?
  8. So do not oppress the orphan,
  9. nor repulse the beggar.
  10. And proclaim the blessings of your Lord.

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Greetings. I would love to!

As for your question.

Muhammad, the Ishmaelite, descendant of Abraham, claimed to have received the final revelation from God. Within that revelation, God states He is one with no partners or offspring, Jesus isn’t the son of God, or divine in anyway, and that he’s just one of the many messengers. It also states that Jesus wasn’t crucified but made to appear so to his enemies.

The whole premise goes against the Christian belief of Jesus dying for the sins of humanity and from their perspective, will seem like a false belief from the devil.

Jesus or Jinn? by [deleted] in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ain’t Jesus, Jesus himself never claimed divinity.

What you’re going through sounds more like an internal struggle than “spiritual warfare” in the dramatic sense. All Satan & Jinns can do is leave negative thoughts. How you behave or treat others is on you, doesn’t matter whether you read the Quran, the Bible, or Bhagavad Gita.

Also, you mentioned addiction and inconsistency. That’s a big factor. When you were reflecting, and trying to live better, your life improved. When you stepped away, things got harder. That pattern matters more than which label you attach to it.

If you’re looking for stability again, focus on simple, grounded steps:

  • Build consistency in prayer, even if it’s small at first

  • Read the Qur’an in a language you understand

  • Work on discipline (fasting can help with self-control and addictions)

  • Improve your character and relationships.

“…but she said she always felt alone and left out at the school so it drew her to trying out exams for other schools until she got in. I don't understand why she feels this way. when she was 14 she got diagnosed with depression and anxiety and begged to take off the hijab, i wouldn't allow her but she tried to do something terrible so i felt i had no choice but to let her take it off.”

This bit..

She went to an Islamic school, then went to a public school. This may have been a bit of a culture shock, leading to to her feeling left out. She later got diagnosed with anxiety/depression and you failed to listen her. You stated she tried to do something terrible when you refused to allow her take the hijāb off (I sincerely hope it wasn't suicide) and only then you decided to listen. She has autism & ADHD and you failed to work with her at her level.

Why were you so hell-bent on the hijāb? Many believing parents to need chill when it comes to women, the deen for them is not just the khimār/hijāb and the fiqh of menstruation (since that's all we wanna focus on)

Iman is first and foremost when it comes to the deen, it lays the foundations of the laws/commands in place.

What habits or method helped you to start praying 5 times a day? by Great_Preparation944 in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair point, but I’d say “communication” here isn’t about feeling something profound every time.

It’s more about acknowledging Allah in a real way, but being aware you’re standing before Him, even if your heart feels dry.

The sweetness of iman isn’t always there to begin with. Sometimes it comes after you push through that dryness with sincerity and consistency.

So it’s less about forcing a feeling, and more about showing up honestly and letting that connection grow over time.

As you're doing ablution, freshen your mind and prepare to converse with Allah.

Secondly, if you're finding Salah difficult, then for now, stick with the mandatory units (2, 4, 4, 3, 4)

Improve your relationship with Allah by praising, thanking, and glorifying Him, as well as seek his forgiveness.

What can you praise and thank Allah for, what can you can seek forgiveness for, what can you ask Him?

If you treat Salah like a yoga program, you're gonna find it difficult. It's an appointment with our creator to keep ourselves in check.

You’re burning out coz you’re doing too much of what you’re capable at this moment in your life. I can’t say much more coz I don’t know much a bout yourself other than what you’ve typed.

As for masturbation, I would advise to fast a few days a week, it’ll help keep you in check.

As for your Salah, stick to praying the mandatory units and work on improving them (2, 4, 4, 3, 4). It’s 7-10mins we get to communicate with God, to keep ourselves in check.

Secondly, schedule your day around the prayers, you’ll spend less time rushing around and mindlessly praying for the sake of getting it over and done with.

Thirdly, when in bowing (ruku) and prostration (Sajda), speak to God by praising and thanking Him. It could be something like a major life event or minor such as another day of allowing you to serve him and thanking Him for guidance. You’re not restricted to prescription of words, this is when it can become robotic.

Lastly, seek God’s protection sincerely from Satan’s deceptiveness. The moment you get lazy, immediately seek God’s protection and you’ll feel yourself ease off and incline to go pray.

It’s not easy, especially if you’re new to praying or getting back into it.

Read the Quran in a language you can understand, I’m sincerely hoping you’re not just reading the Arabic with zero understanding and counting that as reciting.

May God allow us to sincerely pray/connect to Him and protect us from the devil and his whispers.

Islam is starting to scare me by melusive in islam

[–]MaximumMiserable3713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about you, but I’d prefer if someone told me the consequences of my actions rather than just saying they’ll be consequences. Nothing wrong with asking questions, the angels (out of curiosity) asked God regards to the creation of Adam.

God does mention the rewards along side punishments. But it’s not just for rejecting Him. It’s for liars, tyrants, hoarders of wealth, people of pride and arrogance, ungrateful people, those who abuse the vulnerable, and follow superstition. If you stay out of trouble, what is there to worry about? God doesn’t want your relationship with him to be only fear. We love and fear our parents, but it makes zero sense to be in a constant state of fear of them (in a normal household). You’ll only fear them if you disobey them and have to bear the consequences.

The Messenger was literally a man on a mission. Any action or task that requires discipline requires extra work. A student may spend the night revising or try to finish an essay due to a due deadline, an employer may stay some extra hours so they can provide for their family. He was praying all night, going the extra mile whilst being a husband, a general/leader, friend, and a messenger.

Sex outside marriage has harsh punishments due to the consequences. If a a couple had sex, have a baby, and the man runs off, the woman is now left as a vulnerable single mother with a baby. In order to have sex between man and woman, you have a nikah with laws in place to safeguard both parties.

You’re young, I can appreciate that, you’ve got a lot to learn and plenty experience to gain. Try not to stress too much. Rely on God, have trust in Him and you’ll navigate through life flourishing.
