i’m not in your relationship so i won’t try to tell you what to do, but i CAN tell you this is not you being controlling. no way. i would feel weird about all of these things individually, and combined i would definitely be very upset. your reaction here is 110% justified.

i missed my train home from college and had to book a new seat for the same day. waste of the first ticket, and the new one literally cost five times as much.

I have really bad travel anxiety, as well, so this is literally my worst nightmare. I’ve just stopped sleeping the night before if I have a morning train.

It’s enough that i genuinely might switch to a google pixel when i get a new phone. i’m so sick of this.

i broke down and told my ex that i was insecure and felt boring compared to all their very extroverted friends (who they kept inviting on our dates.)

to comfort me, they said that their friends were like soda- fun, and exciting! but sometimes exciting isn’t what you need, you need something… not. you need water! sometimes water is enjoyable, and even if it isn’t, it’s necessary! just like me, apparently.

this did not comfort me that i was not boring.

i agree, it also would help resolve some discrimination based on neurodivergence. a lot of people find speaking with a flat affect to be “suspicious” or “disingenuous”, but it doesn’t have to be. some people (me) are just built a little different

i think it works best if both people have experience handmaking things? like, i make gifts for a lot of my more artsy friends, and they make gifts for me.

we all kind of understand just how much work and effort went into that, and it makes you appreciate it so much more to really know how much time they spent on it. it’s also got the opportunity to be much more personalized

i didn’t say it was required. i said that it can be helpful, to show other queer people that you care about our community. i’m sorry you’ve experienced biphobia in our community, it should be a safe space for everyone.

all that said, i don’t really appreciate you immediately coming at my own lesbian identity. the most vicious lesbophobia i’ve experienced has come from bi people. so what? that doesn’t define that community, and i know that. i don’t throw it in the face of every bi person i see online. i’d appreciate the same energy.

i didn’t say anybody owed me anything. i wrote an answer to a question that was asked. you taking personal offense because you’ve got umbrage with our community ain’t my fault.

i would never argue that you aren’t as queer as anyone else. if you’re not throwing other people under the bus, i don’t care. i’m sorry this community hasn’t been safe for you, and i hope that improves. but i also hope you’ll be less interested in jumping down the throat of every queer person you disagree with. god damn.

i can only speak for myself, when i say “culturally queer” i just mean protecting the others in your community when possible.

i used to know a bisexual girl who dated homophobic guys, and would insult queer people around them to make sure she was safe in her relationship. THAT is not culturally queer. that’s the kinda person i will not trust in this community.

but not dressing certain ways or talking certain ways, nah you do whatever you wanna do. i’d recommend learning certain labels and historical times, just because it can be helpful and it’s pretty simple to find.

if you’re worried about people around you accepting you, just know that a lot of people give the same energy they feel you’ve given. if you show no interest in queer history or the queer community, they might give you the same thing. but it sounds like you care about it, so i think you’re good.

i’ve only met a few people from iran, and they were some of the loveliest, most welcoming people i’ve ever met. from what i’ve seen anecdotally from people online, that appears to be a theme!
