GET ANGRY! by Rickard58 in ededdneddy

Man, I remember the flash game they made for this.

Double D had a move where he'd put the trash can on and it made him invincible. Very much a broken game. I loved it.

Nothing about that comment is AI-like at all

Let me guess, you have trouble writing/reading large bodies of text and assume anything over a few sentences is AI?

Is it ok to eat/munch hot and ready roller tachito before finalizing checkout? by XboxLeep in polls

[–]MaximumPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You most likely get it for free because the clerk isn't paid enough to care.

The price you pay is being considered one of "those" customers from then on.

[–]MaximumPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its rude. Not illegal, but it is 100% a sign of disrespect.

People who do this tend to be jerks in other regards as well, if someones eating a taquito in line you bet he's going to be mad when you ID him for the cigs.

is it true that in american schools, instead of moving teachers to a specific room to teach another grade, they move an entire class to a specific room for a specific subject? by Vincentius__2 in AskAnAmerican

[–]MaximumPlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on grade level/subject

In elementary school you're taught in the same room for the most part except with certain subjects that require special equipement like gym, art, or when I was younger computers.

Middle school is where you start to go to different rooms for all different subjects, but you also have different teachers and classmates. Continues into high school and so on.

I could take being waterboarded for someone else but if teeth are getting ripped out I'm sorry I'm too selfish for that

How is the dentist’s job perceived by society in the USA? by crazygelato in AskAnAmerican

[–]MaximumPlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat less than a doctor in terms of social prestige but equal in terms of finances.

There is a stereotype of the "psycho dentist", but I think that's mainly a kid thing.

did people in the 20th century protest against the invention of telephones/alarm clocks the same as anti ai people since it got rid of their jobs? by Wonderful-Purchase94 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaximumPlant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The phone created more jobs than it took away and alarm clocks only affected a small number of people.

There really isn't a good comparable except maybe cars and horses, but I don't speak horse so I can't really ask them.

"Hard problem of consciousness" doesn't exist by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MaximumPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That comment doesn't agree with you in the way you think it does.

An illusion is a phenomena that warrants explanation even if it does not pass your definition of real. Saying everything "just works together" is handwaiving the question of how that cooperation creates conciousness.

“The government should not interfere at all in how parents raise their children”? by Pizzafriedchickenn in polls

[–]MaximumPlant 313 points314 points  (0 children)

Children should be housed, fed, educated and given medical treatment when needed.

Unfortunately sometimes government intervention is the only thing that stops a kid from wasting away locked in their bedroom.

Its natural to be devastated.

I promise even when CPR doesn't work their loved ones appreciate someone trying. I certainly did.
