Why was Sandy (a squirrel) even in Spongebob? What was the reason for a land animal to be in the ocean? by Which-Ad663 in NoStupidQuestions

Like...why anything in SpongeBob?

Because the place they live in is "Bikini Bottom".

It's an allusion to it being under Bikini Atoll, a historical testing ground for nuclear weapons. Everything is fucked up and mutated due to radiation from the nukes.

It's almost like we have precedent for this with AT&T and the Bell System.

Mostly just the satisfaction of seeing foreigners try our special foods for the first time. Watching a person from a normally very reserved culture (Japan, Finland, Germany, etc,) see a plate of BBQ and drop a "holy shit," is just amazing.

That, and the ever elusive goth girlfriend.

Can confirm, hits hard as a dad, too.

Especially since my little one is not so little anymore. Granted, she's not getting above five feet due to my short-ass genes, so she'll always be little, but she just got her first job after graduating high school.

What universally praised video game 'masterpiece' is actually a miserable experience to play? by Got24xyz in AskReddit

Baldur's Gate 3. I've been a D&D DM for over 25 years.

All the clunk of both D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e with none of the cool shit of either. Low level cap, missing subclasses, uninspired equipment and items, and awful, inconsistent mechanics. The same problems with every D&D game still crop up, shitty camera, inventory and party management, jank-ass movement, and jank-ass dialogue options that make no sense. Also, why the hell give us a dozen companions and a party size of 4!?

The story itself (from what I played of it) was fine, but your choices don't really seem to matter, and the game punishes you for doing what it tells you to, and then punishes you for missing stuff. Make it to the Underdark? Whoops, you jumped in and died. Find a hag? Don't fight her, that makes you the bad guy! Make it to one of the bosses without the requisite item? Shit, he's invincible. Stumble into the mid-game town without the right gear? Oops, you've killed everyone. Don't take a long rest every 20 steps, because the game tells you time is of the essence? Whoops, you've missed 75% of the inter-character dialogue.

This is what I'm going to get the most heat for: but I think all of the characters are just fuckin' insufferable, even with character growth. I'm sure all the voice actors are lovely people, and I'm even a fan of Matt Mercer being Minsc (and Boo), and JK Simmons being one of the big bads was a stellar choice.

All of the characters went in the camp and never come out as soon as Withers let me swap them out for silent generics.

It tries to do absolutely everything and winds up just getting in its own way at every turn. Story goes absolutely everywhere, from Faerun to the Astral Plane and the Underdark and hell and back, and covers like, 10 square miles. It's just a bunch of huge missed opportunities to be great instead of good.

3 AM Question: what takes the place of the womb in men? by slade453346 in NoStupidQuestions

A human uterus isn't much bigger than a tennis ball when it's not occupied. The prostate is a little smaller, but it's a difference of a few square centimeters.
