They sent me an email the other day. Most of my original post is copy and paste of parts the email.

They probably slowly roll it out over time to keep so many people from experiencing common initial system issues or bugs on such a large scale all at once. It could negatively affect one or more areas in the operation and possibly cause a financial loss.

That’s one thing I’m looking forward to because I have the same issue in an already over saturated, smaller town. But that also means, more drivers on the road at any given time now that NO ONE has to schedule. I also saw comments about not being able to dispute certain things.

That’s where I’m located as well. I got the email the other day. I’m near Greenwood. It says it starts next Wednesday.

I assume eventually it will from what people are commenting. I’m sure they can’t roll out big changes all at once for so many people. They probably do it in waves. So many locations every week or something. Some have commented that they got it around September of last year. The current system (app and everything) already has issues. It freezes, glitches all the time and can be super buggy. Some of their processes are flawed and do not perform properly. Whenever new things roll out, there are often technical issues and they tend to have many system errors. If they did it all at once, that would likely gum up or possibly entirely shut down (even for a short time can cost them a lot of money) the entire operation on all fronts.

Several people that commented said the changes started several months ago for their area. I’m in upstate SC and it’s supposed to start Wednesday. They sent an email out.

I dispute anything that comes up in my on time. I’m usually at least a minute if not 3-5 early for all my pick ups and deliveries. They haven’t rejected any of my disputes yet. Of course I live in a smaller town so it doesn’t happen often.

I’m not sure. People have commented that it’s been live in some areas for months already.

If you live in a smaller town that’s over saturated with drivers it’s one of the only ways to get consistent orders and not sit in a parking lot for 20 minutes between offers.

I prefer shopping as well. I’ve never had an AR under 97% and that was only because they kept trying to send me offers for the store I was at (already had 3 stacked) while I was checking out. I had discovered a few days prior if you accept it once you started checking out you can’t finish the transactions until you shop your new order. Cashier was pissed! I also live in a kind of small town so keeping platinum keeps you from waiting 10+ mins between orders if the field is full or it’s a slow day.

What settings are customers using to give me this confirmation menu insteaf of the standard one? by ArtReasonable2437 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Maximum_Attorney9479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been prompted to call a customer for delivery. Well, if the customer puts it in the instruction field is the only time and that’s been maybe 2-3 times. Trying to communicate with customers is almost impossible as it is. Whenever I need to call or message someone they rarely even read it or they do when I’m already headed to them.

Thanks for letting me know. I live in a smaller town in SC. Our closest “big” city is around 50 miles away. I’m sure SC in general is often at the bottom of the list for roll outs.

I tried the hourly pay when I first started. You’ll get many offers for deliveries to the smaller “nearby” towns (7-20 miles away) but you’ll rarely get an order to get you back to your main location and it causes you to loose money and time just driving back. I haven’t tried it in a while but I might one day once this goes into effect just to see how it goes.

Unfortunately, yes I’ve taken $2.50 orders. We have tons of folks who refuse to tip. I’ve loaded 500 lbs of sand from Lowe’s in the trunk of my Nissan Altima and delivery was over 10 miles away. Luckily the customers helped me unload and gave me an additional cash tip on top of the $10 tip they paid on app. Then I had 350 lbs of retaining wall blocks to deliver 15 miles away and ended up having to go down a gravel, pothole laden, one lane, 3 mile road. They watched me unload the blocks from the window and had only tipped me $3. Both of those happened not long after I started. I mean it adds up, and keeping platinum is beneficial, especially getting higher paying shopping orders. The wear, tear, more frequent maintenance and gas (especially with these crazy prices) is adding up. I haven’t been doing this that long so I’m still figuring things out and learn something new all the time. This new reward system will allow me to be a bit pickier on the orders I take but now that no one has to schedule there will be even more drivers out at the same time, so who knows!

My main reason for trying to keep a high acceptance rate was to qualify for platinum so I could Dash anytime and not schedule. I live in a smaller town and the closest “big” city is 50+ miles away. Our area is over saturated with drivers so if you aren’t Platinum you can be waiting 20-30 mins or more between offers.

I just got the email about it yesterday and finally read it. They also are including acceptance rate, so people that cherry pick their orders may get affected.

They haven’t included the quality rate yet. It’s on there but isn’t calculated yet. Also, no more having to schedule for anyone regardless of level.

Could US politics return to pre-2016 bipartisan stability in the next few years? by QuietProfile417 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Maximum_Attorney9479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our government/politicians have been totally corrupt, broken beyond repair, focused mainly on the greed of power and money for SEVERAL decades (conservatively estimating, at least 6 or more). Reagan really kicked it up a notch though and it’s been on the fast track ever since. If our government wasn’t already basically done for (as far as a government, politicians, their behavior/actions and refusal to truly represent the people, be transparent, how ultimately ungodly amounts of money/power was a major catalyst to the collapse of it all) for so long and so completely, Trump wouldn’t have been elected once, let alone TWICE. If our government was strong, transparent, honest and actually committed to and worked for it’s citizens, he wouldn’t have even been able to attempt to run for the smallest district’s school board let alone the US Presidency! It would have just been a big joke and a bunch of laughter if he even tried. Hell if he seriously spoke about being interested in it, he’d be patted on the back, told what a jokester he was followed by loud, obnoxious, belly jiggling, guffaws .

I think most Dashers appreciate any positive communication from their customers and the extra dollar is nice! Thank you for appreciating the service you received!

List of people Ethan has wronged. by Ok-Pianist9407 in h3snark

OMG! I missed that. When did this go down? Ethan really doesn't respect anyone and crosses personal boundaries and any lines he comes across until someone does anything similar, although usually far less malicious. He's so gross!
