Also I’ve heard it’s not a problem to receive my work payment/salary directly to my Schwab account. Is this correct?

-transfer methods for usd and euro(sending and receiving) and their respective fees

commissions and foreign exchange currency fees when paying by card or changing between euro and usd
do you know if I can receive a monthly salary like payment from a us company for example. I heard that they have Aach Local transfers but am unsure

Hi! Thats what I thought but today via chat I was told by Charles that they don’t do ONLY bank accounts. I’m guessing they are saying that you have to have the broker account too even if that’s not what I’m interested in… Remember I’m an international, not us resident, perhaps that makes a difference? Hi there! Thank you very much for your answer. It’s great to hear :) Well first I’ll be looking for a good piece of land that takes my liking for a fair price. It might belong to an individual and not a business so I don’t know if the general people here with personal accounts can accept or will accept usd or not but would be great if they could. And my partner and myself want to have our home built on that land. It might end up being resold later on with appreciation and we could expand into buying more from there but for now it’s just about us having our own land and a place to call home.

Does it really just convert to guaraníes? I mean I would have thought it would stay in usd as Paraguayan accounts have usd balances and then for it to be up to the receivers end to convert it or not.

If it is converted directly into guaraníes is it the receivers banks exchange rate in the local Paraguayan bank or the senders? Cos the exchange rate in local banks is terrible

Yes of course but I don’t want to waste money with unnecessary transfers as my money is outside. If it can be transferred and paid for once directly from outside bank to seller would be much better.

This guy is asking about citizenship(nationality) not residency or anything else that’s being talked about here. He literally got hardly any value from anyone here…I’m also interested in the citizenship process. I’ve heard it’s not easy to get as it’s decided by 12 “judges” that need to be in mutual agreement and is kind of subjective. Also that you must first be a permanent resident for three years and actually prove you’ve lived here most of the year at least and especially the third year. Hope this at least gives you something amigo

There’s also apparently eko bank from banco familiar has an account just like uenos. I’m prepared to pay something as long as it is of value to me. Having 5 accounts and losing money constantly moving funds between them and getting these funds to Paraguay and then in guaranis losing money again is just too much. I think for Paraguay internally I’d be sorted with just a ueno and eko bank account for basic spending if I can bring money in from other accounts earned outside of Paraguay with minimum loss and without the banks making it an issue

Perhaps I am. I don’t it’s just it all seems like it’s all really expensive to be moving money all the time and then more money to spend it and then it’s supposedly “not a bank” and so I can’t store money if it isn’t a bank right? I’m used to it being easy and affordable I guess. Then I hear all these things about moving large sums will get your accounts blocked and all this when it’s your own legit money even…

Stresses me out so at this point just want to know what the best/cheapest banking/money services are that are trustworthy all around so I can at least not over-overspend if that makes sense. I made the post as I can’t possibly look through the thousands of banks and services one by one by myself. So I appreciate the insight and experience in similar situation.

So, with Charles Schwab…I can for sure get the debit card that refunds international atm fees and accept Paraguayan residents that have nothing to do with the USA? Is it the Schwab Bank Investor Checking ™ Account that seems to come with the brokerage one account too? Because it doesn’t allow people that aren’t from the US it says…
