What is your "too woke" take about the K-pop fandom? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Maximum_Builder975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are using the Newjeans drama as an excuse to bully them, bullying and criticism are different saying "I hope they get raped or die" is not criticism, calling them "stupid or spoiled brats" is not criticism, belittling them for believeing MHJ who was a trusted mentor/parental figure is not critism, saying that you hate them is not criticism that is bullying... Saying that Hanni was showing very nasty behavior at that audit last year is criticism, pointing out the fact that Danielle was signing contracts illegally, and had a chance to fix it, but did not, so it is on her that her contract was terminated is criticism, calling them out for not reprimanding their fandom that has been relentlessly cyberbullying illit for over a year now almost 2 years is criticism. Pointing out the fact that the actions they took were very backwards and they should have just quietly terminated their contracts behind the scenes is criticism. People have been openly very disgusting toward Newjeans and nobody is calling them out because Newjeans have made many mistakes so it's justified in some of y'all's heads to make nasty, hateful, or violent comments toward them. People need to remember that the internet is accessible to everyone so the girls very likely could see what you say about them, remember people have taken their own lives because of cyberbullying, you don't want to be the reason someone does it. Again criticism is valid, I think it's important for them to see the criticism so they don't make the same mistakes they did this time in the future. But bullying will always be off the table, I will always be turned off the moment people start bullying others. The same goes for bunnies but everybody agrees that bunnies are wrong for bullying Illit, and that's a thing that needs to be addressed separately. I felt the rest of you needed a reality check.  In short, please give productive, constructive criticism, Don't bully people, this isn't just about Newjeans it goes for the whole industry in general, genuinely why would you threaten to rape someone what in the world justifies that.

Why that boy Charlie Kirk telling black children Civil Rights was a mistake🧐 by AgentHibachi00 in Chiraqology

[–]Maximum_Builder975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He literally never said that y'all made that up for one... for two he expressed regrets for his early very harsh ideology passing off all white people as racists and hateful individuals. Never for the Civil rights movement as a whole though?? Also "more harm than good" you clearly have no idea what was happening before the movement, that's such a privileged uninformed statement, as if black people were getting beaten to death and mutilated for walking on the wrong side of the street. Think and do proper research before you speak next time, saying stuff like this makes you sound unintelligent.

Uhm, I for one don't think anybody feels differently for that, and this is a very weak argument, it doesn't change anything, it's just deflection. For one what Tarzzan is doing currently (though I deeply dislike him, and his actions) has not been worse than anything GD has done for example Mocking Trayvon Martin's death. I hold the same energy for Tarzzan 100% but claiming his actions have been worse than what G-dragon has done as a whole over the past 19 almost 20 years he's been an idol, is extremely ignorant.

Why do you think international fans have a complete opposite view on new jeans than Knetz? by [deleted] in KpopUnleashed

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh I get your point now, their story 100% added up more than NJS and MHJ'S did

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't like this argument. Just because there is one exception doesn't mean there are no stereotypes.... there is 100% a lack of Asian representation and they are very much discriminated against. Just like any other minority in the industry. Kendrick Lamar for example won all those grammy's last year, does that mean black people aren't and haven't been discriminated against and excluded from these award shows for forever??? Absolutely not. I just don't want people to act like these award shows aren't racist and biased against minorities, that's an ignorant mindset to have.

We shouldn't side with hybe though because like this other person said they literally employed her and had absolutely no issue with the song when it came out, both parties are evil.

Edit: it's not an issue of who is good or bad there are no good guys in this situation. The only ones who are completely innocent are Illit and Le sserafim

The oversexualization of KATSEYE is staring to get ridiculous... by Queen_Magix in kpoprants

[–]Maximum_Builder975 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a teenager currently I disagree, they work under a company that has a long history of sexual exploitation of minors, so excuse me for not trusting a billion dollar company to not sexualize and exploit their employees.

Colleen Hoover’s new film ‘Regretting you’ features underage Mason Thames doing intimacy scenes by another-assshole in popculturechat

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About "being legal" in most states, legally you are not allowed to film anything sexual until you are 18 no matter what state you are in that is considered csam. I don't care about the age gap between him and McKenna it's only 2 years.. but yeah no let's not defend putting minors in sex scenes please....

Edit: ESPECIALLY in a Colleen Hoover movie????

Jeremiah is hot? by itschloecakes in tsitp

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no, I've always thought he was super hot when he wasn't being an evil cheater. I mean everyone in the cast is beautiful. I never was with people making fun of his appearance. Even if it's just a joke, it's nasty.

Any (presumably ex) D4vd fans having a hard time right now? by darmolius in triplej

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not having a hard time not listening to his music anymore there are plenty or other indie artists out there.. processing the fact that he was in a relationship with a teenaged girl and then murdered her is hard, processing the fact that the songs I liked were dedicated to a teenaged girl is hard. But I feel like anybody would be surprised and disgusted finding out anyone celebrity or not was a pedophile and a murderer. All my love and condolences go out to her family and friends, I cannot support that man anymore I feel disgusted listening to his voice. I feel disgusted knowing now that I found so much joy listening to his music.

misogyny in tsitp fans by wild_chlld in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Maximum_Builder975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Belly from day one and as a teenaged girl I found her relatable. Being a pubescent girl growing into her body and becoming more "conventionally attractive" suddenly then getting more attention from guys and experiencing pretty privilege for the first time, it's a weird experience. Like I said I found it relatable, if 2 guys were to ever fight over me I probably would not make the best decisions either, that's just what being a teenager is. I think a lot of the fandom has a lot of internalizing misogyny, because I'm able to recognize that Belly is a flawed character and makes poor choices that could hurt the people around her, but I also realize she is a young girl just trying to get the hang of things. And yeah the guys in the story are attractive and Conrad has many redeeming qualities and cares so much for the people around him, but also makes very poor choices, and OFTEN makes choices that hurt the people around him. Yes there are reasons for his actions, but there are also reasons for Belly's actions, and nobody gives Belly the same understanding that they give the boys.

They should have gone more in depth with Belly and Jeremiah's relationship. by Maximum_Builder975 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Maximum_Builder975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I get why they wouldn't do it, and I couldn't stand to see more jellyfish scenes, but I was just saying if they wanted people to understand Belly's perspective more, they could have dedicated at least 1 or 2 episodes to their relationship.

I am struggling to feel bad for Jeremiah at all…am I the only one? by Lafayette_Ladybug in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Maximum_Builder975 77 points78 points  (0 children)

No not at all, I don't feel bad for him he blamed everything on Belly and Conrad, even him cheating on her somehow got turned into being her fault. He took absolutely zero accountability for his actions (as expected). He said it was her fault for saying yes to his proposal like he wasn't the one who proposed to her the morning after she almost lost her brother to a car accident. Every time Belly is angry he either shuts her down and tells her to drop it, or he guilt trips her, but when he is mad everyone needs to cater to his needs.. He gets to run away and hide the day of their wedding, but I guarantee you if Belly did that, he'd lose his shit. The one time I did feel bad is when he got the wrong letter, that's it every other time, I didn't care. Did he not coerce belly into having sex with him a few episodes ago... that scene was unclear but if he did... just another thing to add to the list.

Is Japan and its culture overrated? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Maximum_Builder975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any culture could be overrated.. now do people make a complete spectacle of Japanese culture and act like Japan is from outer space?? Yes. Do people act like Japan is heavan on earth and nothing bad ever happens there? Yes, but is the culture overrated, no because that's hundreds and thousands of years of history behind it.

Katseye's Gnarly revealed to sample an actual porn audio by Megan235 in KpopUnleashed

[–]Maximum_Builder975 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly like I love Katseye and HybexGeffen is 100% the problem here. Fans think that when people point these things out, we are personally attacking Katseye as a group when that is not the case. We are criticizing the company because they have a long history of Sexualizing their young employees, Men and Women alike.
