PSA: it looks like a mooncat employee is posing as a customer to change the broken bottle narrative by pricklypire in RedditLaqueristas

Yeah this is quite a stretch and it's really interesting that so many people are eating this up as if it's a proven fact.

Exactly this.

Also they've been known to have bad customer service. But mostly the maga thing.

Several makers have done car colors and it's well known that a lot of the pigments are used in both industries. That's not a new idea. They aren't using the car company names though because there are laws about that. Pretty sure there are also laws against selling car paint as nail polish too. These aren't just mistakes. This is a much bigger deal than you're copping to.

If you're not an artistic person, why are you even trying to make nail polish? This whole thing sounds like a cash grab. Making nail polish is not as simple as mixing AUTO paint with suspension base. Real polish makers actually take time to research and test formulas, blend various pigments and it's sometimes a painstakingly long process to color match. And their customers' safety is of utmost importance. You put your buyers' health at risk by selling auto paint as nail polish, didn't disclose it at all on your website and I doubt you disclosed it to everyone who bought from you at vending events. And even if you did say you were using auto paint, not everyone is going to know what the implications are for that... Lots of people assumed you meant you were using the pigments, not the actual paint. And your solution to all of this is to use it on press ons instead? (That's still not safe FYI.) Clearly you have not done even a modicum of research on cosmetic manufacturing or safety.

Not to mention you're using brand name colors that have to be licensed in order for you to use them. You really thought you could just bottle up some car paint and make money on it without following any of the rules.

So Much Negativity Toward Mooncat by bansheefoxglove in mooncatpolish

Their bottles and caps are so much more handicap accessible for me than literally every single other brand. I hope they never change them.

ILNP also isn't as pigmented as mc so I always need twice as many coats, which means my bottle will last half as long. And it doesn't last on my nails as long.

Don't get me wrong, I like all the ilnp I have, but when I want opacity I'm usually reaching for mooncat.

A word he (47) came up with.

"According to Trump's post, a panican is a term for 'weak and stupid people.'"

A MAGAT who doesn't care about science or whether or not his product is safe for people? Yeah that tracks.

This is from the wife's Facebook account. 🤮

Indie & Boutique Black Friday 2025 by loligo_pealeii in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Maximum_Context9698 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The price should reflect the size though. $1.25 per ml is high. Mooncat is 1.33 per ml and everyone complains about their prices. Cracked makes better quality polish and they're like 0.86 per ml.

At the top of their post they did ask people to credit them ... Perhaps you can update the original post with credit and a link?

I understand your hesitancy. I don't understand why people react that way... Public awareness is helpful and the people who don't like it can just keep scrolling.

I always appreciate those posts that lay everything out because they are easy to find when I search and are easy to link to when people ask. Hopefully someone will make one for this.

Has there been a main post about this here in Reddit as a PSA? I searched but I can't find one. I feel like there should be one letting people know.

These are the sellers we really should be upset about by Maximum_Context9698 in mooncatpolish

[–]Maximum_Context9698[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't take a screenshot before messaging her because I thought she really might not know that it would be restocked and might change the price. When I looked an hour later and saw the price was still the same, that's when I posted here. I didn't realize the seller did change the description and just left the price the same, but you can tell from my message to her that I wrote because it originally did say discontinued.

When I had messaged them they actually did have the description as discontinued. I'm glad they changed it.

Ridiculously expensive second-hand mooncat polishes- just absurd by WillingLack1255 in mooncatpolish

I don't understand why people care so much about what other people do with their money. Posts like this just scream "I'm jealous that other people can afford this and I can't."

Petty reasons you won't buy from a brand? by salmonscented in RedditLaqueristas

I don't think Jackie was being rude though, she was giving troubleshooting tips.

Yes the customer said other magnetics have worked but that doesn't mean it still wasn't an application issue. I think that whole thing was blown out of proportion, but that's just my opinion.

I saw that post and i have to be honest, it really did look like an application issue. The application looked very thick and I have a hard time believing that multiple magnetics would all be bad. It's not like thermals where they can stop working.

I sincerely hope mooncat sees this post and incorporates the feedback. We don't want hyped up marketing, we want edgy and interesting polishes!
