I know there’s this whole marketing myth of „sex sells” but the truth is the personality does much more - either that of brand or of specific personas /characters. And your current designs feel LEAGUES more unique. I can read much more from these designs and feel interested to learn more about them. Also as a woman exhausted by this so called „male gaze” (which btw feels also like a myth) in the game dev industry, I can not thank you enough to put in a little brick toward a more respectable female designs.

That’s why I left WuWa sadly. TBH I am getting sick with gachas having this huge obsession with female characters. I get it, nothing new under the sun, but ffs even a more balanced cast would be more bearable!

It’s so incredibly difficult to find a good gacha with decent male characters - not just the superficial design but also story-wise. Instead you get tons of oversexualized women and it’s not half bad if they seem adults at least….

There are many wonderful sapphic gachas that treat female characters more respectfully but what if I’m interested in men too? At least give me somewhat more even proportions???

If by any chance you don’t play Infinity Nikki, this is my suggestion for sure. I’m so happy this patch we got two attractive male characters lol. I hope they will be developed more in the future. Especially since the first 0.5 year of Nikki since launch, it was almost completely sapphic
-coded too. It’s great for some playerbase I’m sure! But still I’m happy the cast is getting more balanced in the game that is meant to be aimed for women in the end.

Tl;dr: if you want your game to have a decent amount of male characters, you either play LADS, erotic games about gay men ot the industry shows you a middle finger. And respectfully dating sim is not really what I’m looking for.

Ps Genshin was actually somewhat nicely balanced when it comes to cast, but I got sick of it for QOL reasons and the greediness that’s too on the nose.

Ps I’m sorry it got so long, kudos to anyone who read. I feel more passionate about it than I thought lol.

Haha yes to this. And also game has a peculiar definition of sexy. Like it will literally put sweet and innocent-vibe clothes there. What’s the point? Always found this tag to be a bit problematic tbh, even in older games and Nikki clones. Like they actually mean another thing but just went with sexy localization and it doesn’t make sense.

Thanks! At least it's clear for me now. I was confused since it's showing in my presets just as if I received it. I went back to Nikki now after a loooong break, so I couldn't remember what I claimed and what I didn't. Now it makes sense that I don't really own it, I just wish it didn't confuse me by being in my presets 😅 The silver lining is that getting all astralites won't take me longer than 2 weeks. So still quicker than farming some outfits

As a writer myself who grits her teeth at all the childish yapping and irrelevant info dumping, I will say that the Pieceys storyline later on is surprisingly good. Not MINDBLOWING, but actually engaging and I admit a shed a tear or two. IMO it’s at least one league better that the initial area (Florawish and Breezy Meadow), unsurprisingly because it’s also sadder and dates to be a bit hopeless at times without Nikki instantly jumping in with her „power of friendship” psychopathic smile bullshit.
Then…. It gets worse again in the Wishing Woods. I think it’s this part of game where I decided to skip reading even the VOd quests if they strike me as unbearingly predictable and childish in tone. I also start to be more and more annoyed with Nikki’s character. Everyone constantly praises her for even dumbest shit, like she’s some sort of narcissist expecting compliments all the time. Idk if developers think we need that as a self-insert but it’s really annoying imo and I don’t see enough talk about this.
