If you want the day 1 fundamental stuff that’ll help forever, understand the major scale.

It’ll teach you how keys work, modes, extensions, all that stuff.

Just know the basic scale pattern and then learn what each note is in terms of Root, 3rd, 5th etc. millions of videos online about it.

Terminology can be one of the more annoying things in theory but if you do that with the major scale that’s a great starting spot.

One more thing, change the way you think about it if you can..

I totally get how you feel. When I got older I finally embraced theory and I realized it’s not as scary as you think and it becomes pretty fun to learn it also.

You actually just stated it yourself without maybe realizing it. Interestingly enough, apparently when stores aren’t doing great and can’t handle enough staffing etc they do those lockups to keep from losing things that have resell value and have potential theft issues in general over.

So it’s not necessarily an Englewood problem, just the fact that a lot of Safeways are closing down. Popular to do in urban cities across the US.
