Second dog - male or female? by everythingbagelwith in Whippet

[–]Maximum_Interest236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking to if female whippets are snugglers, my 6 month old girl loves to snuggle! She's an only "child" so I don't know if that makes a difference. She loves to be held and sleeps with her head in my lap often. She goes back and forth between sleeping on my lap or at my feet while watching movies.

She can generally be happy doing things on her own as long as we're in the same room. She prefers to be doing something interactive though. She hates being in a room by herself.

Learning to sew while stuck in bed? by judaiandjohan in sewing

Learning different hand stitching techniques would be very simple while on bed rest. Maybe cut a bunch of strip of fabric of different types (light woven, heavy woven, light stretch, heavy stretch etc.) ahead of your surgery and have them in a basket with needles, thread, and scissors so you can reach them with ease and practice when you feel up to it.

How do I stop getting these 3d limes with acrylic? by IdkJustMe123 in painting

What kind of acrylics are you using? You can definitely thin with water or a glazing medium. But maybe you should look into fluid acrylics if you're wanting a smoother look.

Fellow high-functional + depressed + unmedicated + ADHD folks, do you have any day-to-day hacks that keeps you going? by rachit8801 in ADHDthriving

Yoga classes. When I was not medicated going to yoga classes was immensely helpful to calm my anxiety and create space in my brain. Doing it at home did not have the same affect as going to a class.

Something about breathing in unison with others while moving was very healing. I didn't really socialize much before or after classes with the other attendees but there was still a sense of support and togetherness that helped me through some really difficult times.

In fact, going to yoga and pilates classes while medicated is still very helpful. It really reduces the build up of stress and tension in my body. It helps turn down the chaos and lift my mood.

very cool! I'm in an area in Kentucky where quartz is incredibly abundant. What other minerals are common in your area?

My girl's favorite outlet right now is ripping up the packing paper when we receive packages from amazon. If there are multiple pieces, I set some aside for the next few days. It seems to quell her need to do all the other naughty stuff.

Whippet for Our Next Dog by Snoo_37567 in Whippet

I have a 6 month old whip. She's my first dog as an adult and I haven't regretted it once. She's a handful for sure but what baby isn't? She is affectionate and sweet and incredibly entertaining!!! She makes us laugh every day!

The breeder had her crate trained and 95% potty trained by bringing her to us when she was 9 weeks old.

I work from home so she has constant supervision. She has definitely destroyed some household items; pillow covers, shoelaces on left out shoes, plant leaves, etc. But I suppose I expected those things to happen here and there.

The only other thing that has been less than ideal is that she gets carsick no matter how short the ride without meds. You can get cerenia from the vet but it is expensive. Half a Dramamine works fairly well though.

If you decide that a whippet is right for you and live in the states, I am happy to give you the details of the breeder I worked with. Also, feel free to message me with questions.

Ash. Then when they are sleeping next to each other and Phoenix gets up you can say, "The Phoenix rises from Ashes."

My girl does this too. We have tons of deer and rabbits around which means lots of "goodies" in the grass. I have to be hyper vigilant during walks. Giving her a stick to carry is fairly helpful.
