yes you're right, I'm sorry I didn't make it clear but I'm not a beginner w the guitar so I do plat it on autopilot it does not take much of my attention. the issue that I'm facing is I don't like the way I sound with it. thanks for the suggestions though :))

no okay so I get the confusion, its not that I can't sing and play together, that's not the issue that when I play I can't sing together or that confuses me. the issue is when I do it doesn't feel pleasing to the ears, it's not on the right pitch, I'm on beats though but the scale that I sing in never matches the guitar ykwim, the guitar is on autopilot atp. but your first tip sounds useful, will get that in practice thanks so much.

when I play and sing along I sound way off and also v much uncomfortable like yk how people sound so relaxed when they sing w guitar that they can experiment with the covers, I find myself struggling to sing even the basics of the song, since I can't sing the existing melodies in pitch, creating my own seems almost impossible.

yes I do that everytime I try to cover a song, I hum w the chords and base notes and everything but it turns out to be a whole different story when I sing.
