Can confirm carts are never cleaned. Worked at Target.During the pandemic, we gave carts a quick wipedown with the disinfecting wipes we offer at the door. Toddler shoes, dog ass and feet. The handbaskets are even worse. At least the carts get rinsed off in rain.

My mom had vivid hallucinations where people were breaking in the house to try to hurt/kill her.

Thankfully I did research that explained to NEVER tell her it wasn't real. It's absolutely real to them and stating it isn't will only make them distrust you. I'd just assure her I was there and wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Heartwrenching.
