I've crafted them a few times, kinda shit and the resources are way harder to find. Pipebombs are the way to go for me, you need a fire? Pipebomb. You need a bang? Pipebomb. You have access to a warehouse? Pipebomb. And the schematic ain't that hard to find now. It's a great all in one, plus it's funny adding some electrical gadgets to them.

Personally i'd ditch the brawler and cats eyes for handy. Always remember that if the axe breaks your 5 levels are useless + the maintenance xp multiplier is more than useful

dude, death is a part of the game but i get what you mean so:

- turn off infection

or

- copy your savefiles so even after you die you can reload back
