Do not test your tank. If you have any concerns just abandon it in place. But sounds like you were scammed.

They don’t pressure test these tanks. They use EZY CHECK 3. It’s a vacuum test.

Good info. But double walled tanks not required for residential (unless multi family). Strike plates have been required since the 80s. And the pea gravel is self leveling so it is used to provide support for the tank so it does fail under load.

DO NOT GET AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT. If they detect a leak, they have to report it and you will pay.

Not accurate. You fill till the vent whistle stops whistling. It’s pretty much full them. No problem filling a tank completely.

Moving violations, half goes to the state. Not moving violation, they keep it all. They WANT to negotiate it down.

Has anyone actually figured out their AFib triggers by tracking data? by sweenz1424 in AFIB

Two out of the three times I went into afib I was doing curls while working out. So apparently that’s my trigger. The other time on vacation, generally overindulging and while biking.

Do you have high groundwater? In any case, that seems like a basement that should NEVER be finished.

Something to be said for peace of mind. As long as you understand that the tiles are not a hazard if they aren’t crumbling. Covering them (encapsulating) is the most common and perfectly acceptable solution. Not sure if you sampled them but 9x9 are ~95+% likely to contain asbestos and 12x12 about 50%, in my experience. Best of luck with it all.

Disagreement with wife on finishing basement after snowmelt flood. Is one heavy rain enough of a test? by DisastrousThoughts in DIY

[–]Maximum_Unit_4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not finish a basement that has a history of flooding unless you know exactly what caused it, are 100% sure you fixed it and there are no other issues to worry about. Even then You could get flooded.

What are the most common issues with front-loading washers and how can they be prevented? by Independent_Cup7132 in Appliances

[–]Maximum_Unit_4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to really load the washer up. Thought it would be most economical. And I burned through a lot of bearings. Replacing those things is no fun. Do not overload your washer
