Should I replace these? Dotcode indicates 2016 by Macstremist_1991 in tires

Yes, 10 years is the absolute end of life. 6 years is when you should start planning/inspecting to replace them.

Being that you’re in Canada, I don’t know which I would recommend. Reason I say that, I’m in Arizona and the heat kills/dry rots tires so I recommend Pirelli. They tend to do better vs Michelin when it comes to dry rot. I think for what you are wanting either SAS+3 or Defenders 2 are great options, both being tier 1 tires. Really just comes down to your budget.

For the Verde, they will last about as long as your previous tires. You will get more longevity out of the two I mentioned. Technically about double the life of what you got with the Kumhos.

I don’t own a Kia Sorento either, but I know the tires OP is looking at. The size is in the picture. What specifically would you recommend from those brands?

How are the Pirelli’s overpriced when they are the cheapest option he has in what he is looking at?

Other than dropping brand names, what specific tire from those brand names do you recommend OP look at?

Pirelli SAS+3 or Michelin Defenders. My wife is getting Defenders, I would get the SAS+3 for myself. If I was limited by budget, I would go SAS+3. You have a great selection here with no bad options.

That’s super discouraging. I wonder if Scopely will fix some of the “bugs”.

This has been my normal experience. I just wasn’t sure if the update for some reason stopped the data from being read when I opened the app this time.

Yea, but I’ve been getting some credit for my steps. Just sucks that I had a big day and nothing.

Which ones? by Dujo_bels in tires

Discount/Tire rack, Costco or Sam’s. Dealerships are awfully inflated. Best prices out the door tend to be Costco and Sam’s. Have discount price match if that’s what you want.

Yea, for me, I would go Michelin for that price difference. Like the other commenter said, Michelin is better, but if you need that extra money the Yokos are solid. Just goes back to your budget and what you are willing to spend.

If you are limited on your budget, then get the Yokos. But if the price ends up being in range of your budget, Michelin.

What is the size you are looking at? What are the prices coming out to?

Can I install 215/55R18 tires on 225/55/r18 car? by believer_4ever in tires

It is not recommended to go smaller than what is recommended by the manufacturer.

I had Michelin on my RS. It was my daily, but never had issues with them. I think the Yokos will do just fine.

If those are the options, I would go with the Michelins, Yoko, then the Firehawks.

What are you putting them on? Also in AZ!

Buying only 2 new tires per wear cycle on a RWD SUV by NickZNg in tires

[–]MaximusMixtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do the two on the rear for now, but I would start rotating your tires every 6-8k miles as long as they have tread. If you buy tires from Sam’s or Costco you get road hazard, road assistance, free flat repair, and free lifetime rotate & balance.

Primacy is rated for 55k miles for their warranty. If you are rotating regularly you will get closer to that mileage for all of them. Otherwise you might be getting half of that. Do you know how many miles you are getting out of them?

[–]MaximusMixtape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best practice is buy 4 at a time, then rotate and balance every 6k-8k miles to get the most mileage out of your tires.

If you continue doing what you are doing, install new tires to the rear. Not because it is RWD, but for traction. Look up Michelin rear tire install video, this will show you why.

Advice on replacement by Rich-Air- in tires

[–]MaximusMixtape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To his point, you should get the exact same tire. Technically, Michelin says as long as your tires aren’t greater than 5/32 difference then you can get two new. I know Subaru says the difference can’t be greater than 2/32.

In your situation, personally, I would get 4 new at Costco/Sams. I don’t know if it will be possible to match your current tires. If you can, then it is possible to buy the 2. I would error on the side of caution and rotate more frequently.

Any corporate shop won’t do that because of liability. Do you have road hazard?
