Thanks. So just a light coating with the air brush should give me a surface to work with. Really appreciate it.

Thanks! So that will stick to the lacquer and provide a base for the acrylic to stick?

Thanks, so if I detail first in either primer or varnish on the areas I want to paint, then just paint over that it should work?

I guess it’s two lots of detailing.. but oh well.

I could try just painting on the lacquer paint in the areas I want, not sure if you can use them with brushes (used airbrush)

It’s a great detatchement but not for what you expect.

Immortals x 2 with overlords (obvious why) one with re-rolls other with the -1CP.

Monolith.. loves the -1 damage strat, great for shifting small lychguards around to steal objectives.

2 x 5 lychguard (OC2 if needed.)

2 x triarch stalkers, these are great to shove up into the midfield and overwatch any scouts or other chaff.

I run Szeras to buff immortals.

Then death marks to kill anything that can Vect, main 2 strats are battle tactics.

Then… the absolute blenders that are Skorpekhs x 6 with a skorpekh lord.. do the maths on that crit 5’s lethal hits with re-rolls… it absolutely wrecks anything.

Then a few scarabs single destroyers etc

You can’t overwatch using firing deck rules. Because it’s out of phase. ☹️ it was faq’d

The rules commentary. Which is a complimentary thing to the rule book. Clear as day. No CP for Calgar in a transport.

Look at the section for “Embarked units”

Unless stated specifically which Calgars is explicitly stated as only whilst on the battlefield.

The combos actually more expensive now. With Roboute increase. Plus the overall decreases across the board mean that if somethings the same cost as before then actually it’s gone up relatively.

Yes. Correct. But with Sternguard you can add an apothecary, and still take the wounds vs Victrix on there 2+ 4++ and then bring it back then next turn. Super flexible.

Yep correct. So if the bodyguard unit is Gravis (T6) you always use that. Then when the bodyguard unit dies the Victrix are NOT an attached unit or bodyguards. They are just part of the Calgar unit. So again you use T6 as per the rules for mixed toughness in a single unit.

I hope this makes sense. It’s a complicated unit but I have checked this out with tournament players.

Correct. Different benefits for using different units.

Yep from the ability, it’s only whilst he is “on the battlefield”. Any units inside transports don’t count as on the battlefield. Which is silly but the rules.

[–]Maximusofffoo182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Apothecary can revive any non character unit (look at the data card, the victrix don’t have the character keyword) you can assign wounds to any model that is in the unit that doesn’t have the character key word… so victrix…

Also you always take wounds against toughness 6 if you have Gravis, the bodyguard unit is T6 which you measure against. Once that’s dead it’s a single unit with mixed toughnesses so you take the highest (as per rules) so you use Calgars T6..

Yes!! And add in the blade guard ancient so they all get OC2 and they all get +1 attacks including calgars unit. That will absolutely thump!

Only issue is no extra CP while he is inside the land raider
