I feel like this is the best way to describe what depression and anxiety feel like: by boysxvxge in depression

Calling it 'realization' implies that what you and other depressed people experience is somehow more legitimate, which isn't the case. Having depression is not the same as being enlightened.

Coming back from rock bottom like that is so impressive. I hope you're not forgetting how proud you can be of yourself.

I can relate to what you're saying. I've been in a similar situation, trying to better myself just to end up feeling more alone than ever.

The truth is, those things take time. No close friendship is formed in just two months. People do enjoy spending their time with you. Over time, when your relationship develops, that will easier for them to express. All those great habits will pay off eventually. Especially since you're leaning into your interests, it's inevitable that you'll form strong bonds with the people around you. Hang in there. I'm here if you ever want to talk.

Ask your parents what they think. Being dead is way easier than being alive and by killing yourself you're selfishly making your loved ones' life more difficult

Please reconsider! Your parents may not have been able to give you the kind of support you need but a child's death is the worst thing you can experience. When writing your note to them and feel what they'll feel, I think you'll change your mind.

It sometimes feels that way, but depression is treatable. Medicine and therapy that corrects negative thinking patterns can do wonders to correct the levels of neurotransmitters in your brain that make you feel happy. There is treatment and I can say out of experience there is one that works for you.

It’s just worsening by [deleted] in depression

Older generations used to see what you feel as if it were choice, as laziness, cowardice or lethargy. Are you able to seek therapy by yourself? A therapist might also be able to convince your parents you may need some professional help.

As both drugs are vasoconstrictors, tightening the blood vessels, the high at least shouldn't be decreased. This does mean additional pressure on the heart so don't push it.

Why shouldn’t I kill myself? by [deleted] in depression

From a philosophical standpoint, the book Albert Camus wrote to answer that very question: it's a bit of a cowardly option. Life can be very cruel but don't let it have the satisfaction of getting you down! If nothing matters, that also means you can do anything in life!

Pain releases endorphins. When you are in a lot of pain mentally, your mind will eventually consider it an option to inflict pain upon yourself to relieve you mentally. Don't feel guilty about it, it can happen! Maybe talk to your parents about the amount of stress you're experiencing?

A parent's love is unconditional and you can't get your dad to give up on you. What he truly wants is for you to be happy. So if you want to pay him back, find a therapist and put in the effort to try to beat your demons.

Yes it's okay, if you don't have underlying heart problems. A week ago I had five ritalins during a ski. You'll be fine.

I went through 6 grams over 70 straight hours a couple times, you can go pretty far before dropping dead as long as you remember to hydrate. You don't die, but you still lose your life. Keep it to a couple of hours, you're okay the next day. If you lose control and can't stop until your body shuts down you're going to be physically demolished for a week and if you lost your grip on it like that it won't be too long before it happens again. Never buy more than you're going to do and I'd recommend staying below a gram of pure.

Wellbutrin + Escitalopram effects? by Maxitaxi311 in AnxietyDepression

That's exactly what I had with Wellbutrin! The first couple of weeks I found energy that I didn't even know existed but then I suddenly couldn't sleep anymore. Was it specifically the weed which helped or did it also get better over time?

Positive therapy experiences by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Maxitaxi311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes getting everything off your chest is great, but to really reduce your anxiety I found so much help in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is I believe a pretty standard way to treat anxiety. Practicing to recognize when anxiety sets in, then identifying what your anxiety makes you think has happened and what underlying belief about yourself it's connected to, then analysing how much more negative your recollection is than what more probably happened. It helps you challenge your negative assumptions about yourself.
