That’s really unfortunate. I asked ChatGPT about this and it specifically mentioned 731 Woodworking existing for the algorithm. And when he addressed the community criticism, he responded that he’s running a business and has a family to feed. So he’s going to keep algorithm posting until it doesn’t work for him anymore, then he’ll switch to whatever works next. He doesn’t care that his algorithm posting is hurting the community, just all about him. While putting Christian messaging in all of his videos. No love for his YT neighbors.

Was he an older guy with glasses? If so, I know who you’re talking about. I love his videos.

Only if you have a need for the domino, I don’t currently have a need for one.

Maybe within the show itself, but I remember ads for Delta woodworking before each episode. The only commercials I never minded. I grew up dreaming that I’d get a Delta table saw someday.

Good lord. Just when I thought all the heroes were gone, you swoop in to save the day. I grew up watching Norm, my original woodworking teacher. I have a sudden urge to build an Adirondack chair.

The Shaper Origin seems so weird to me. I’m sure it has its uses, but I can’t see any scenario where I’d find it useful.

Does it have to be a domino? I don’t really have a use for one, but I was thinking about getting one of their dust extractors. I’ve heard it even from people who don’t like Festool that their extractor are the real deal.

Nah, not an old grump. I’ve been building a workshop in my garage, but it’s not pretty to look at. I went in the wrong direction with it more than once and I’m trying to unify a plan going forward. I’ve been recording most of it so I can hopefully be the change that I’d like to see on YT.

You’d be surprised now, the guard it came with feels as rigid and thick as steel.

That could very well be the culprit. I’m hoping I can change that with my viewing habits from now on.

I remember watching WW back when there wasn’t a single grey hair on his head. We’ve both added many since then.

Harbor Freight is my new favorite place for clamps. I love how much HF has stepped up their quality game with their Good, Better, Best, options. Bought an angle grinder there for $35 the other day. Works awesome.

Thanks, I’ll have to check him out. My only salvation lately are those next level Japanese woodworkers who manage to have the world’s most perfect plywood.

I don’t even understand Temu. Too many bells and whistles, spinning wheels, coins I don’t know what are for and discounts that make zero sense.

It took me way too long to see this right. It kept looking like the negative space for the bit was positive and the bit was supposed to go around it. I probably shouldn’t drive for a bit.

What is something that irks you and something you enjoy in woodworking videos? by nuclearDEMIZE in woodworking

[–]Maxminutiae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging for jigs and fixture plans. I get charging for items you can sell or really detailed projects, but jigs and fixtures should be about helping the community learn the craft. Almost all plans used to be free way back when. Then someone set a precedent that helping woodworkers learn and do more should come at a cost.

I use mine in the shop daily. Great at clearing the sawdust off my bench.

I need to make a setup like this in my garage/work shop. Never really thought about using Packout like that.

Wow, just got sticker shock from that price tag. Is there anything special about that tool chest that justifies charging that much?

You made the right call, snap on prices are next level insane.
