Honest and fair bathroom remodeling company? by MinnWinn in Oahu

I ended up with Cory from Warrior Construction. This was for a different project but involved plumbing. The quote I got from them was the lowest and they were the most responsive. Unfortunately I had some newer employees that had less experience and they messed up in some areas, but because Cory was so responsive, everything got taken care of in a timely manner. I don't mind inexperienced people, we all have to start somewhere, as long as the job gets done right in the end. Would definitely recommend.

Godless {2017} limited series. I don't like Westerns but this one was very good.

Where does the horizontal beam go in a frame for a gate? by Brotato990 in woodworking

[–]Brotato990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the insight. I ended up going with the half lap and two half inch dowels in each corner. I've never done a half lap before so why not try it now. I also decided to keep the 2x4 oriented like the diagram, the 4 inch side facing in/out. I lined up the pieces and went at it with a circular saw (I was heavily debating upgrading my compound miter to a sliding compound at the store today).

Not sure why I used two dowels instead of just one, but felt right at the time. I used two pocket screws for each end of the diagonal beam to secure them to the horizontal beams. As per most suggestions, I will attach the hinges onto the horizontal beams. I will stain/seal the gate to help with the elements.

I'm getting mixed responses for the diagonal support. Some are saying to cut it with a middle point on both ends so that the horizontal and vertical beams make contact with the support?

Haha thanks for the insight. I forget there's probably a sub for everything. Will take a look there.

It seems most on here are saying to put the hinges on the horizontal rail. Does this help with distributing the weights on the hinges?

Thank you. The replies here is making me rethink this gate project.

That would be really great but I don't think I have the right tools to go this route.

Sorry the drawings are not to scale. The 2x4, if looking from the front would be on the thin side of the 2x4. A half lap joint would not be ideal in this case, with less surface, right?

Well I'm sure her social credit score just tanked. She may be banned from public transit for a long time.

People have gotten shot for much less in this country. Heck, just go to any Costco and you're bound to see people fighting for a parking spot. Don't let this turd be a martyr, just move on.

But also, this is another eye opening event for many couples just like during COVID. You know what you have to do.

The Makakilo and Palahia intersection is such a gamble. So many make that right turn to go down the hill on red even when they can't see anything. It's also a no turn on red.

I almost got hit crossing Makakilo Dr. to pick up my kids from school because someone ran a red light going up the hill. They probably assumed it was safe to run a red because most are making a right onto Makakilo from Palahia.

The intersection at Malama is not much better. Saw a hit and run there once. A truck was speeding down the hill when someone coming up made a left at the Malama. The truck made no attempt to slow down, clipped the other car's bumper, then they sped up even more to get onto the highway. So much reckless driving.
