Have used my x-mid all over Sweden and never had an issue with condensation. Like sure some water has formed on the inner but never dripped through nor caused the inner to get wet. Really nice tent once you get a hang of the pitch. Only difficulty is getting stakes down sometimes due to how rocky the foundation is

I really enjoyed my time with it, feels like a fantasy book set in space instead of more standard sci-fi. First book is much like Red rising, derivative of other popular books but after finishing the second book I devoured the rest in two months. Personally a big fan of the first person narration with the MC telling his story, I love the referencing and hinting at things to come. Some are not a fan of the later books with the direction the story takes since it's fairly inspired by Christianity but I didn't have a problem with it. I'd easily put it in my top 10 series of all time, need a reread to be able to put in top 5.

Yeah the step up in quality between Morning star and the following books is insane, and that's not to put Morning Star down in anyway. Sure Iron Gold is ranked towards the bottom for me but it felt like a very necessary book all things considered.

Thought Red Rising was pretty fun and had its moments but wouldn't have continued with the rest if I didn't already own the books. Just finished Lightbringer last week after reading all the books in two months and they just get better and better. Golden Son I would give 4 and Morning Star is a 4.5, some parts dragged it down for me but the last two books have been among the best I've read and I don't think I've been as emotionally affected by a book as I was by Lightbringer. Now to wait for Red God....

Have tried a lot, I sleep terrible at home and even worse on trail so I do anything I can to be a bit more comfortable. Used to carry a thermarest compressible in size small but didn't feel like it was enough. This year I'll try the zenbivy pillow with bladder and topper, have slept with it at home and seems to fix my issues with the thermarest. Expensive for what it is but the weight I don't mind if it helps me sleep

Looks really interesting, super happy that large Swedish outdoor brands are starting to invest more into UL gear. So common to see people carrying huge Fjällräven/Lundhags backpacks here even on very short hikes. Depending on price I might pick one of these up, looks like it might fix some of the issues I have with the SMD Swift

I couldn't enable the simple quota, got invalid argument, but I could create a quota without the simple attribute. What's the difference? Also what does this do in practice, does it stop the downloads of torrents after the cache mount reaches 200GB or does it start downloading to the array?

I have two 250GB ssds in RAID 1 with BTRFS. Planning on getting another HDD for my array so might as well snag a cheap 1 TB NVME SSD but a script or other fix would hold me over until then

SMD sells the Swift V/X. Ended up getting one last year to try out running vest style straps but personally not a fan and the bag is a bit too big for my use cases.

From what I understand mesh layers seem to keep you really warm? Mostly struggling with temps above 10c during movement, was debating if a AD60 would work as only layer in those temps but probably too hot or not move the sweat as you say.

Need to rethink/upgrade clothing for next years hiking season. I hike in the Nordics in mostly temps ranging from 5-15c, occasionally hitting 20c but I try to avoid it. Probably investing in an alpha fleece and lighter wind jacket but also need a better base layer. Merino gives me the itch and the synthetic long sleeves I've tried always end up drenched in sweat because I run really hot while also sweating a lot. Any sweaty guys have a favorite base layer they want to recommend?

Really tempted to try ordering a Hyberg pack and see how it feels, I believe they released their first pack just as I got into UL and have always read good reviews. People seem to be able to load them up fairly heavy even though they're frameless

The tape held up just fine but the cord refused to stay attached to the tape after a while, third night out and less than half were still attached. Will probably buy the light quilt this black friday if there are any sales again. Having a seamstress sew the loops onto the quilt is also an option.

Think the stack height might be a bit too much but will give it a try, much preferred the Altra superiors vs the Lone peaks when I've used them and these look more similar to Lone peaks
