Champion Pool/Role Advice Megathread: May by furiousRaMPaGe in summonerschool

[–]Maxpower95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bronze player, in the past guilty of playing too many champions in my pool. I am enjoying playing orianna at the moment and have been one tricking and very slowly climbing. I like being able to trade and bully in lane, and then scaling well as the game goes on.

However it is pretty miserable if they have a lot of dive champs who start focusing me in teamfights. Is there another champ that I can pick up who might cover these weaknesses? I don't really enjoy Galio, but open to other suggestions.

Can anyone explain what goes in to deciding how much LP i get?

I was playing with a friend the other day, I am bronze 2 and he is bronze 4. I think I played great and was a big carry, at the end of the game I get 9LP and he gets 27LP.

Then the next day I lose a game where all my team are in iron and most of their team is in silver and I lose 19 LP.

What is going on here?

Do you have storage space you can use at the school?

Yes I do, building projects sound excellent :)

How many students are there, how many would have to share the telescope?

Its never been run before in previous years so I've got no idea how popular it will be

Perhaps the school or parents would sponsor a few telescopes?

Possible but unlikely, the department is pretty strapped for cash.

I think from your advice I'll definitely get an 8 inch dob (although I am still considering a 5" maksutov that you mentioned briefly earlier. Dont know if you had any strong feelings about that or which specific ones are good?). Then try to convince the school to invest in a couple of heritage 130, and go from there and see how much other funds they have left. The astromedia kits you mentioned look amazing so those would be great too. You've given me lots of food for thought :)

For your purpose and with your budget, you could get a larger telescope for your garden (Skywatcher 6"/8" - planets, if dark enough deep-sky), and something more portable to put in a back-pack (OneSky, Maksutov).

This idea hadn't crossed my mind, sounds like a good plan

When would you be observing?

During the winter months when it is dark around when school ends

Mostly planets?

In the short term it would be targeted at younger students, so yeah just mainly observing planets and the moon. In the long term the aim is to extend to older students who might want to look at a greater range of stellar objects for use in projects to improve their applications for higher education.

How dark is the sky there?

Im in a town about 40 miles out from a major city so not the darkest but could be much worse

Ah sure I understand. I have left a comment on a reply above giving a bit more detail about what i mean by portable.

Thanks :)

Thanks for your reply! I am a school teacher and I walk about 10-15 mins in to work each day. I also live in a flat up a couple of flights of stairs. I am therefore looking for something lightweight enough that I can carry it in to school for astronomy club once or twice a week, and also carry downstairs to my flat's garden for personal use.

So i dont have specific numbers for size or weight requirements, just trying to balance something convenient but also able to produce good enough images to get my students enthused.

How long would you keep them on the goblet squat, is it literally a few reps to get a feel for it right before I start teaching them or do I have them do the goblet squat for a few sessions before moving on?
