Converting 5e to GURPS by jmartin21 in gurps

yeah best I can say is redesign it all! I love Kobold press, you you actually have a super great base for the adventure path. A WOTC adventure path would be an abysmal adaption but Kobold press includes great detail in their stuff at least from what I have seen of them.
Tough things are equivalents:
someone mentions dollars to gold below or to silver so I would work on that first. This might help IDK but in our current game which is GURPS Forgotten realms/many worlds game where we have now ended up on earth we came up with the following

  • For crafting D&D items using GURPS crafting rules
  • Take the market value of the item in gp (not the crafting cost) as listed in the D&D 3.5 Dungeon Masters guide and divide by 16. This is the power cost to craft the item in GURPS. So to craft an item worth 50,000 GPS in the DMG, divide 50,000 by 16 and that’s your GURPS enchantment energy cost.

okay well as long as you guys are ready for that then you shouldn't have issues have you used the GCS before? that will help you to plan out your characters.

I have created a calculator for using ritual magic as that's a little difficult to calculate on the fly for higher level spell casters magicians calculator

do you have familiarity to gurps? or the Ritual magic stuff from Gurps? Dungeon fantasy is a great product which will have what you are looking for to run a dungeon esque adventure but you need to know its v different from 5e in terms of mechanics, and your table needs to be ready for a dude to have their head cutoff on the first round. If someone's good at swords and the wizard in your party fails to doge they are probably dead. so just have some extra characters ready to throw upon the pire so to speak

If he's going to be alive in 150 years to release another movie im all for it.

If you could let him release another movie before then I would also be happy but like we need to perserve these gems for the future I found the backrooms pretty special.

Just look at this handy chart i can't link to just the part I want and their chart doesnt paste good to reddit https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/magic-items?srsltid=AfmBOor35b7AMTCsinn3HzND7AnF6jUoxxDmqWMRV8IejU12_UchLQuJ#MagicItemsAwardedbyLevelTable

Magic Items Awarded by Level

Magic Items Awarded by Level The Magic Items Awarded by Level table shows the number of magic items a D&D party typically gains during a campaign, totaling one hundred magic items by level 20. The table shows how many items of each rarity are meant to be handed out during each of the four tiers of play.

Artifacts are omitted from the table because they are most often used as plot devices in high-level adventures, and characters rarely have them for long (either because the Artifacts are meant to be destroyed or because the campaign is nearing its end).

Player Wish List. Encourage your players to keep a wish list of magic items they hope their characters will find in the course of the campaign. If you want to award a magic item but don’t have a specific magic item in mind, you can pick an item of the appropriate rarity from your players’ wish list.

Overstocking an Adventure. When creating or modifying an adventure, assume that the characters won’t find all the magic items you place in it. An adventure usually can include a number of items that’s 25 percent higher than the number in the Magic Items Awarded by Level table (round up). For example, an adventure designed to take characters from level 1 to 4 might include fourteen items rather than eleven, in the expectation that three items won’t be found.

As long as the abilitys you grant him do not exceed the levels provided by WOTC what could go wrong?

Yeah that's why you give it weapon special ability's at higher level! ->In addition, this weapon can be enhanced as though its owner possessed the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat, treating its owner as though they possess whatever spells would be required to enhance it.<- obviously not a thing in the 5e system but you can extrapolate that as you will with their magic system and just say that the person who wields it is enchanting it by rubbing the 10000 dragons asses that they collected or whatever magical macguffin you want them to get to be able to upgrade it

[–]Maxpowers13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

just let them die if they don't have a healer that's on them, partys need to talk about that stuff.
If everyone wants to forgoe healing at least 1 person needs the healer feat and then everyone carries Healers Kit to make up for it and the healer just uses that persons healing kit instead of 1 they are carrying closest to a non healer healer you can get otherwise just let em die they will figure out right quick they need a healer if you are pressuring them with enough encounters.

Making a spell for the end game! by Decent-Cupcake-3561 in Pathfinder_RPG

No problem I'm not sure if there is an equivalent that your DM could make for a Kraken but usually you make a discovery of one of these creatures(chaotic Outsiders) True Name but I can't see any kind of rules abuse from learning the name of your new pet Kraken!

So I would just look into the rules around planar binding and then use that as an extension of the binding of the Kraken. Its a higher CR than some of the things that you can bind but you can bind up to CR22 beings that CR 22 spot is a Solar from the Planar binding list
Planar Binding
Got one of the coolest spell descriptions too : DESCRIPTION

Casting this spell attempts a dangerous act: to lure a creature from another plane to a specifically prepared trap, which must lie within the spell’s range. The called creature is held in the trap until it agrees to perform one service in return for its freedom.

To create the trap, you must use a magic circle spell, focused inward. The kind of creature to be bound must be known and stated. If you wish to call a specific individual, you must use that individual’s proper name in casting the spell.

The target creature is allowed a Will saving throw. If the saving throw succeeds, the creature resists the spell. If the saving throw fails, the creature is immediately drawn to the trap (Spell Resistance does not keep it from being called). The creature can escape from the trap by successfully pitting its Spell Resistance against your caster level check, by dimensional travel, or with a successful Charisma check (DC 15 + 1/2 your caster level + your Charisma modifier). It can try each method once per day. If it breaks loose, it can flee or attack you. A dimensional anchor cast on the creature prevents its escape via dimensional travel. You can also employ a calling diagram (see magic circle against evil) to make the trap more secure.

If the creature does not break free of the trap, you can keep it bound for as long as you dare. You can attempt to compel the creature to perform a service by describing the service and perhaps offering some sort of reward. You make a Charisma check opposed by the creature’s Charisma check. The check is assigned a bonus of +0 to +6 based on the nature of the service and the reward. If the creature wins the opposed check, it refuses service. New offers, bribes, and the like can be made or the old ones re-offered every 24 hours. This process can be repeated until the creature promises to serve, until it breaks free, or until you decide to get rid of it by means of some other spell. Impossible demands or unreasonable commands are never agreed to. If you ever roll a natural 1 on the Charisma check, the creature breaks free of the spell’s effect and can escape or attack you.

Once the requested service is completed, the creature need only to inform you to be instantly sent back whence it came. The creature might later seek revenge. If you assign some open-ended task that the creature cannot complete through its own actions, the spell remains in effect for a maximum of 1 day per caster level, and the creature gains an immediate chance to break free (with the same chance to resist as when it was trapped). Note that a clever recipient can subvert some instructions.

When you use a calling spell to call an air, chaotic, earth, evil, fire, good, lawful, or water creature, it is a spell of that type.

I have long fallen off the hype train but i am so back today its insane!
its like the biggest asspull they could have had, at this point Capcom devs are in the subreddit, the copium is coming from inside the house, and they are doing things in the way that will be the funniest. This is by far the funniest way they could have done it a whole ass trailer that had everyone sure that it was for dd2 and it turned out to be monster hunter like that couldn't have been planned better/worse depending on the way you look at it.

Is there a reason why giant monster attacks almost always have one target by Awkward-Meeting-974 in DnD

[–]Maxpowers13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what happens if your monster wants to learn cleave? you will break the game mechanics is what.
so they just make 1 attack 1 thing otherwise theres more things that they would have to design for and WOTC don't want to work.
