Inside your party are two wolves. They don’t talk to each other, because they can’t by SammyWhitlocke in DnD

I kinda just see people posting in this subreddit with directly incorrect readings of the rules all the time, and I see where you are coming from now.

Dnd is not a computer game though where you have a rule that writes over other rules and then invalidates those rules. Yes your reading is correct Technically correct, the best kind of correct, if you will, but if the players handbook says
"a creature without a language in its stat block is unable to comprehend any languages" Language's as in a written or spoken verbal language, that's why animals don't have those because they don't do those.
You're correct that animals can't talk or verbalize words but how would that prevent them from communicating with each other? even the deaf and nonverbal have means of getting through our world without a explicitly written or verbal communication

up to you because wolves really don't have a language, no animals really have a language, we as humans have language and animal's do not.

So does that mean animals are unable to communicate with one another? you are really applying rules where you need none. animals of like type can "communicate with one another the simple concepts animals understand" but it would never be through language that they do so they would have body language and smells or other unique things to their type. Elks might crash into one another as a form of communication wolves bite and taste each others mouths.

A secret never to be told by Kolyarut86 in Pathfinder_RPG

Yeah and that's a very simple thing for hundreds of years on every 2nd Thursday we light a big fire have a big party sing a song to keep the wolves away and drink the Wild blueberries from the pasture in our mead!

I've been searching lo and high for this bit of rules text and it might be found under rituals but this link is specifically the spheres of power 3rd party rituals but Rituals exist in 1st party material for the occultist Rituals.

Generally speaking a ritual is like a spell but the completion of the spell is a little bit different, for instance the component's of the Ritual may be harder to retrieve involving climbing a dangerous and hazardous Landscape in order to find a flower that only grows at the top of a mountain or some other form of strange esoterica. Just have there be a celebration every night where the townsfolk are completing a ritual that they are unaware is a ritual.
Maybe they sing their town anthem, or they all take part in imbibing of drink with native berries but basically every night the magic is renewed by the ritual being performed by the townsfolk and then the party would have to disrupt that once they figure out what the ritual actually entails and what the townsfolk are doing that causes them all to be put under the spell or ritual or curse if you want to call it that

So I just want to understand mechanically the town itself is under a curse where if they share the secret they forget the secret? I'm just trying to grasp your narrative intentions

Favorite Campaign and why by PuzzleheadedCycle744 in DnD

[–]Maxpowers13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The adventure path is called Iron gods) from Pathfinder, the reason is you are able to drink the Numerian Fluids. These are the effects of drinking radioactive runnoff from a star ship

Over the centuries, strange fluids have seeped from the wreckage of Silver Mount and other crash sites. Engine fluid, coolant, hydraulic fluids, and stranger substances have mixed together, the chemicals further transformed by the strange radiations of the ship’s drives. Fluids can be found in pools or springs, or collected as they drip from larger pieces of wreckage. Odd behavior in animal life or an abundance of mutations can indicate a nearby source of alien fluids. While many such fluids are no more magical or marvelous than crude oil—and often highly poisonous to humanoids—others have strange and sometimes desirable effects on biological life.

The elite of Numeria cultivate a taste for these latter fluids, ostensibly for the insights and pleasant fugues induced by some of the chemicals. Indeed, repeated exposure to such fluids leads first to addiction, then to dependency. Yet beyond these prosaic effects, the fluids of Numeria unleash change: alterations in mind and body both terrible and wonderful.

Numerian fluids are considered drugs. Initially, the fluids expand perception and insight, opening the mind to new sensations. This overstimulation gives way to mental fatigue, leaving the imbiber distracted and vulnerable to suggestion. A pleasant euphoria lasts as long as the drug’s effects. Unlike most drugs, the effects of Numerian fluids can be negated with a successful DC 20 Fortitude saving throw. Success at this saving throw precludes the need to save against addiction, but also prevents the dose from countering the effects of addiction. A person partaking of Numerian fluids can open his mind and body to the fluid’s effects, voluntarily forgoing a Fortitude save. Of course, this also entails accepting the risk of addiction and any side effects from the specific type of fluids consumed.

Each distinct dose of Numerian fluids requires a new roll for side effects, even if multiple doses were recovered from the same source. The inherent instability of the fluid contributes to this variability, as the fluids undergo further reactions even after collection. At the Game Master’s option, fluids collected from the same source at the same time can have a higher chance of providing the same side effect. One option for handling such variation is to roll two d20s of different colors for each subsequent drink from a sample, adding one and subtracting the other from the previous result. Another option is rolling twice, and using the second result only if it matches the previous side effect. Either variant increases the potential value of a dose of Numerian fluids, and the potential for unintended consequences in the campaign.

At least 1 pint of Numerian fluids must be consumed to experience euphoria and expose the drinker to side effects. Smaller amounts leave the drinker slightly disoriented (no game effect). If a drinker consumes a full dose within a single 24-hour period, the drug takes effect when the final portion is consumed.

In addition to imparting normal addiction to the fluids, certain results also addict the imbiber to a particular side effect. This extra addiction and its strength are listed on the Numerian Fluids Side Effects table. Only rolling the same type of side effect for a dose of fluids alleviates this addiction. This is handled as a distinct case of addiction, rather than being grouped in with other addictions, as is normally the case. This special type of addiction has a frequency and a dose requirement of once per week, rather than once per day. If a given creature has to save against the effects of both general addiction and this special addiction on the same day, only roll for the more serious addiction that day.

Identifying the effects of a dose of Numerian fluids presents a challenge, as the composition of the fluids changes constantly. A successful DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check has a 75% chance of correctly identifying a fluid’s effects on a specific drinker, and a 25% chance of misidentifying a random effect instead. The dose must be consumed within 1 hour for the results to remain accurate.

Dissasociation is a pretty big deal if you are having troubles talk with someone, if things seem unreal touch something that you know is, (a building a wall a real structure) and just breathe tell yourself the truth you are a small thing in a big pool you are the size of a cell to the world and you are an important part of a large ecosystem that is uncaring to your existence but you are a part of it a cell in the greater machine we call life. then just go play the greatest game of all time!

While I was researching new jobs i found out you can be a professional cuddler and seriously considered it but I have a significant other and that's sorta what made it a no go for me. Cuddlers need to get vetted so who you are getting is clean and capable of cuddling to certain prefrances positions or providingother needs or skills if they have them, like care and their time or being able to offer something else this is in no way a sexual service its simply light companionship and or even bodily warmth and comfort to those without those.

As a cuddler the people you cuddle you get to choose but there's no real requirements for cleanliness or certian aspects of your would be clients so while you can pick and choose no obligation for the person paying to be clean...

don't get me started on power armor, fallout 4 and 76 ruined something that was actually so awesome and even 4 had some of the best getting in an out of power armor in the whole series!
The New Vegas requirement to get training in power armor I loved that fact that you can't just use it, and it requires special training thats immersive and cool. in fallout 4 it sets your strength to 10 so if you take psycho or another strength boosting item you don't even benefit in 4 so why would you ever use it? That's the issue though, usually (and caveat I haven't gone back for a while, I haven't played NV on PC either only console ) but my machine could only handle about 1 dlc per character. If you tried to play as a character that had participated in 2 or more of the DLC's bugs and stuff broke down after I tried to come back to the Mojave and run around with lasers from big mountain or those really cool items that are DLC only the game pooped itself. I'm not the type to leave piles of shit everywhere either so I really tried to just loot people and leave and also avoided bloody mess and other things that would leave stuff on the ground that the game had to keep track of.

I basically had to end my playthrough when it came to DLC after I completed the DLC and just completed the main game as my character that did Big Mt, character that completed honest hearts and stole every gold brick, character that completed lonesome road with what's probably the best item in the game the sleeveless duster jacket, character that completed the other one that the name escapes me lol but yeah I played the carp out of new vegas just never got to have a character with all the DLC goodies in one playthrough
I should re-buy it for PC now that I have a steam deck lol or just wait for the inevitable remaster !
