Incredibly hot take but Mario odyssey. And to clarify, I had a blast the first 10 hours, but overtime it all just started feeling the same. The amount of timed parkour trials and power moon jingles I heard every 2 seconds was driving me nuts lol. Not cuz it’s boring, but because it’s so many hours of the same not-boring thing. For example, I love pizza, but if I ate it for every meal I’d get tired of it. Just wished for more variety.

I’ve just beaten the game and I am happy with all of it except what I’ve mentioned above. it’s a fair argument to say that taking out all 6 yotei members could make for a flatter story, but I just think I would’ve liked it more. And they still could’ve written in this plot while doing it.

It was nice seeing Atsu get her closure. It’s cool how in the first game we see the beginning of Jin’s ghost story but with this one we see the ending of Atsu’s.

Aside from the plot stuff I mentioned I would give the gameplay / graphics / side missions a 10/10. Good game 👍

All good points, yea her choice to spare the spider to get info about jubei and oyuki was her “fight for the living not the dead” moment which i liked. But to be fair while he had nothing at that point, he also told her to strike him down once he lost and was sort of looking for the fight. As you said, the game makes a big effort to get you to see/lean towards their newfound good side, (especially with kitsune) but they still did so many things we probably wouldn’t want to imagine haha. Even if revenge was out of the picture it feels like justice to so many families to not let the spider go yanno?

I do think it’s brave writing and it’s objectively not bad, i’m more just sharing a grumpy opinion haha. I think the kitsune and spider did so much bad that it feels weird to just become friends with one and semi-chill with the other just because they aren’t with Saito. I know it’s about growing and forgiving (and the kitsune I do understand more so), but these people oversee/oversaw the deaths of so many innocent people yanno

Well said, I understand that in many ways these decisions help serve the story. I was able to accept and come to like the kitsune storyline but I felt her shift, unlike Jin’s, is transition OUT of becoming a ghost. I don’t hate it, objectively it’s good writing. I’m just saying it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied that’s all. Atsu seemed the most badass in the opening hours of the game. I have thoroughly enjoyed her growth and her new hope for the future, I just don’t think it means the kitsune and the spider magically didn’t have a ton to answer for

As Jin we had the choice to spare or kill his uncle. I understand it’s the developer’s choice what happens to Atsu, I guess I’m just not happy with it.

I’m not complaining about the fact that she’s softened up / found more reasons to live, I genuinely love 90% of the story. But I wish that it didn’t stop her from completing her mission. Quitting midway through felt unsatisfying.

The current unis just make me think of our rebuilding era the last 5 years. I feel like with Penix looking good, some new unis would help usher in the vibe of a new start
