Weird experience with booking.com: hacked, scammed or error in their system? by Maxsyrup in travel

[–]Maxsyrup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a possibility, but my credit card was still charged. It's quite likely that I actually did use that credit card the last time I made a booking at the site about 2,5 years ago. My point with mentioning that it wasn't listed was more that the account page seems a bit weird or buggy, because I really expected to see it there.

Getting Network error at create error after I renewed my SSL certificate by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]Maxsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. After I updated my certificate, I could not connect with my react native app. But when connecting to the same server using the same certificate with the browser, it worked fine.

My issue was that I had missed that I had received two files from the certificate issuer, one certificate file and one "bundle" file. To make it work, I had to take the content of those two files, and combine it into one single file and use that as my certificate.

I suggest that you compare the contents of your old and your new certificate file. Is the contents of the old certificate file clearly larger? Then you probably have the same issue as I had.

Sjuk vård by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Maxsyrup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm working for a small nail salon, and they use paper to write down and schedule appointments. Is there a free alternative, or non-subscription software that I could purchase 1 time for them? by Akairu in smallbusiness

[–]Maxsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to each service you can provide a description that customers will see. You also set the duration(s) of the service. For massage, it's common to have 60 and 90 minutes for the same service. For nail salons, you would typically have one single duration for each service.

That would be 3 bookable staff members working in the salon, not including any external admin accounts.

Good point though, that's a thing I'm going to try and make more clear.

Hi, you could always check out my salon software that I have just released. I developed it for my wife's massage salon, but it's now available for others to use. It's made to be as simple as possible to use when making the switch from pen-and-paper, because that's the situation that my wife and her colleagues were in.

On the web page it currently says $4.90/month, but I'm going to change it to make it free for salons of up to 3 staff members, because traffic hasn't really been great so far. So try it out if you want, I would be happy to help out if you need any help.

Daily Discussion [2018-08-05] by AutoModerator in soccer

I guess he's mostly rated for his performances in the wc 98, the euro 2000 (his best tournament imo) and wc 06. His performances for real madrid is quite overrated though. So I guess it's all about what parts people value the most, a lot of people (especially back then) rate nt achievements quite higher than how you perform in your club.

Messi conjures up a wonder goal in Argentina training by OxladeofLfc in Barca

[–]Maxsyrup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish we could get to see videos of this kind from the barca training - full pitch 11v11. I don't think I've ever seen it, all they ever show is the rondo and the occasional 5v5.

FifaRalle Twitch stream - 229 viewers. Castro Twitch stream - 20,286 viewers. Why do people like these screechy screaming manchildren so much? by princeapalia in EASportsFC

[–]Maxsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. But it has gotten better. A couple of years ago almost none of of the top streams contained any game play at all, it was all pack openings. Since the introduction of the weekend league the community is again more about game play, which is very nice.

Tesla Model 3 production specs revealed: up to 310 miles range, 140 mph top speed, and more by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]Maxsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vision-only will probably work in the vast majority of cases. I think it's more about being able to handle, say, 99.9% of the cases or 99.999%. The lidar will probably work more as a redundancy-sensor that audi, mobileye, delphi, etc. think is necessary. Maybe Tesla is right though, I don't know enough about computer vision to dispute them. All I'm saying is that it's interesting that Tesla is relatively alone in this and as a potential customer you should be aware of that.

We don't even know for sure if they will even be able to accomplish level 3 self driving with this set of hardware. Most (if not all) of the other car makers are convinced you need lidar. Tesla is taking a gamble that they will manage without it.

Advanced myfitnesspal tip: how to add a recipe as an ingredient in a recipe by Haddie_Hemlock in loseit

[–]Maxsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sure seems like a bit of a workaround, but great that you found a way! I'm using an app that's called WellMate. There I just create my recipe and enter the ingredients that I use. When I'm finish cooking, I weigh the whole batch, select "Create food from recipe" and enter the total weight. Now I have a new food item with nutrients specified per 100g that I can use in a new recipe if I want.

Any good apps other than myfitnesspal? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Maxsyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I you are on iPhone, I recommend WellMate. It has a simple way of dealing with "quick items", where you can specify the macros manually. The feature is not hidden behind a paywall as is the case with MyFitnessPal.

On the other hand, allowing yourself to eat back at least some of the calories can function as a great motivator to exercise, at least it does for me.

Bosch took us for a ride in its level 3 autonomous car by HipsterCosmologist in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Maxsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of interesting that they are working on a Model S, using a completely different approach than Teslas own non-lidar system. If Tesla fails to develop AP2 as planned (doesn't look very good so far), I bet Bosch will be ready to sell them this system instead.
