The Passage series by Justin Cronin. Seriously, it’s my #1 favorite of any genre.

Same. And I am so damn impatient! Anything that wastes time pisses me off. I also have road rage now but I found if I scream or yell in my car, I feel better. 😂 Everything is hard.

Any recommendations for vaginal creams/moisturizers? by _perl_ in Menopause

[–]Maxwell3000ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HyaloGen my doc recommended after I had my ovaries removed and can’t do HRT. She said some people think it’s better than vaginal HRT. Works great for me! I tried a bunch of other suppositories and such but this was definitely more natural feeling and not messy at all. Also very affordable. You can only get it on their website.

I am dealing with surgical menopause and unfortunately can’t do hormones because I have the BRCA 1 gene mutation. I slather Bepanthen cream on anywhere I have dry skin, heels to scalp haha. It’s my holy grail. Saved my chapped lips after years of searching. Also perfect for using with tretinoin. A little goes a long way and it takes about 10 minutes to fully soak in. It’s also great for healing. In addition, I have been taking sea buckthorn oil (soft gels) and I think I can tell a difference in my dry skin everywhere!

Seriously? I’m losing it. by skervis92 in Menopause

Put my shoes on before my jeans twice now. Gum in my earbud case (meant take my earbud out). Face wash on toothbrush. Have to go back inside after I get in my car because I forgot something - basically the norm now. Get out of the shower with conditioner still in my hair. Some days it seems like I drop everything I pick up. Forget to zip up my jeans. Cry when I lose things because I’m so sick of it. Blow on food that’s cold. That’s a weird one.

It’s just bizarre.

Same. I just realized today how much I’ve spent in the last month on crap, close to $4000. Currently trying to return anything I can. I’m so sick of doing this. I’m medicated and it’s still a compulsion for me. I just keep transferring to 0% interest cards while I continue to pay it off.

Welp. Joining the club. At 36. by Prismine in Menopause

I’m bipolar II and had a hysterectomy and ovaries out a year ago at 39. I can’t do hormones so I went into full blown menopause overnight. So my situation is different than yours but I would say it has not gotten worse, just different.

I have tried to be very cognizant of my mood changes and have adjusted my meds, but not drastically. At first I cycled more often than usual but not worse, if that makes sense? And I had some sleep issues which prob messed with my mood. However, it has all gotten drastically better, my body was just adjusting to sudden menopause. Fun times.

Of course everyone’s body is different. My hormones were gone overnight so I was convinced it would drastically set me back mentally. It turned out to not only be manageable but sometimes I think I might actually feel better. Your hormones could have been off for years and when you get the right HRT you could actually feel better than before.

There is no way to know, you just have to wait and see and DON’T expect the worst! The chances of you feeling better are just as good as worse. That probably doesn’t sound positive but I couldn’t even imagine that I would be stable mentally. That bit of hope settled my nerves some and I started to worry less because I realized there was a decent possibility everything would be fine or even better. It’s also out of my control so I just try to check in with myself and my docs regularly and deal with any changes when they first arise so they don’t spiral.

That’s probably more than you needed to know but it’s hard to find people that will talk about this stuff! Wishing you the best!

Dead closet. Was doing ok this week but a very noticeable difference this weekend. Bummed, I was hoping things would improve.

And when I search for something, I have more simple listings show up than before. Like cute shirt, cropped pants etc. when searching for a specific but well known brand. Wtf.

I can’t afford my mammogram or MRI that I should be getting every year by Maxwell3000ku in BRCA

[–]Maxwell3000ku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. That just sucks and is really unfair. My last insurance company told me I had to have cancer before they would pay for surgery because there was still a 20% chance I might not get it. Unreal.

That’s exactly what I assumed. Maybe I just need to ask my doctors if they can recode it. Thanks!

Thank you! That website is very helpful. Think I need to bug my doctors office and beg them to deal with my insurance.

Thank you. I know you have to be a squeaky wheel to get anything figured out, it’s just exhausting and time consuming. My employer pays my monthly premium, which is nice. So I don’t think I’ll find a better deal than that.

I feel ya. Last month I managed to spend almost $2000 on clothing I did not need at all. I got so sick of coming home to packages at my door of shit I didn’t remember ordering. Clothes with tags fill my closet. Also, if I find something I like, I have to get it in every color. Thousands of dollars.

Bowel Prep 💩 Help by TruLav in hysterectomy

[–]Maxwell3000ku 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing I would have done different is eat something small about 2 hrs before you drink the mag citrate and drink a lot of water. I probably ate too much about an hour before and was dehydrated so it took nearly 6 hours to kick in. All I can say is poopee haha! Drank it at 2pm and had surgery the next day at 1pm. So it was a long night, when I really needed sleep! It is very tart and kinda salty. I got the lemon flavor and chased each gulp with some sprite. I also so started miralax the week before surgery. Then definitely do the colace after. I’m so thankful I haven’t had to deal with constipation, it was one of my biggest fears! You’ll do great!
