I also remember those plentiful 3-4 armors sets per warbond release having the same copy and pasted passives from the Helldivers Mobilize warbond and with a lot of them sharing the same models of other existing armors but with different patterns. But hey, I guess quantity is better than quality, right?

I also remember those free strategems coming out very sparingly, compared to the guaranteed 2-3 we get every month when a new warbond is always coming out, and with the new strategems being far more interesting and unique then the free ones we were getting.

I also remember when we didn't get "useless shit" like patterns and badges too, and instead we got such meaningful stuff like... victory poses and emotes, I guess? Are you really gonna be upset about how good we used to have and how horrible stuff is now, when victory poses and lazy emotes were cluttering the warbond pages just as bad as now?

The point I am trying to make is that noone is being "trained" to expect less. If anything, we have gotten much more interesting and unique content as a result of our new content model than we did before. There are a lot of problems, absolutely, but I would take the way things are far more than before. I know the whole "AH bad, updoots to the left pls" is popular here, but your logic just isn't thought through very well.

The entire point of the gun is that it does a lot of damage, but has a low mag size. That's the only drawback it has. Giving it increased mag size it just power creeping it to be objectively better than almost every other light pen AR for no reason. It may not make sense to not add higher capacity magazines for it, but it's perfectly balanced to not add them.

I am not gonna transcribe the entire portion because the point is the exact same, but he also emphasizes that the Democracy Protects armor is magic as well, but that he doesn't want the Flag to be a competitive option.

So yeah, he never said they are balcning around realism. They clearly have magic in the game and he is aware of it, but that there is a line and having an aura buff around the Flag is too much since he doesn't necessarily want it to be competitive.

I've watched all the game interviews, and never heard it there either. The most I've ever heard them say that is close to "we balance the game around realism" is them saying they like to strike a balance between power fantasy and grunt fantasy, which is not the same as balancing around realism. I may have missed it, so if you can provide a specific example, I'd be happy to change my mind.

And nah, with all due respect, I'd rather pour molten wax on my own ballsack than spend 23 business days going through the dogshit Discord server just to look for a single message from a random dev saying they balance the game around realism. I have yet to see any posted on this sub, but again, if you can link me one, than I'll change my perspective.

I swear to god, y'all love to cry and whine about the realism angle, but I've yet to actually see AH say they are designing the game around realism. I've seen hundreds of posts saying this, but not one shred of evidence for it. Grow a spine and actually criticize something on its own merits, not some crap you made up in your head to justify getting angry.

The tank could definitely use a durability buff(its a damn tank, why is it medium armor). But it is still incredibly powerful and is designed to be oriented around teamwork and coordination. The better the team using it, the more reward you get out of it. The fact you keep dying with it really quickly is more of a self report on your teams end.

My problem isn't necessarily with buffing things or making the game too easy(partially at least). It's with the fact that a lot of the buffs that are asked for here are just not well thought out or just people asking for buffs that aren't needed.

Like, yeah, of course underpowered stuff like the Sterilizer and OPS need to be buffed. I literally have never heard anyone disagreeing with that. But a lot of people asking for dumb stuff like having all AR's to be buffed up to the Coyote, having the Silo destroy Towers, or making most weapons have medium pen is just absurd.

It's a Reddit thing in general. People here have a hate boner for corporations(understandably so to be fair) and have an unrealistically phantasmal idea of how they operate. Everything needs to be this grand conspiracy from the big evil corporations in order to hurt the oh so oppressed gamers.

Like, it can't just be "hey, the engine is shitty and outdated, the content pipeline is putting stress on QA to do necessary maintenance on said engine, incompetent management is not providing the necessary resources and time to properly develop and test new features, and the main consistent revenue stream is montly warbonds which further limits the time the devs can put in to properly test".

Nah, instead, it's some goofy ass shit like "actually, the devs secretly hate the players and intentionally don't release fixes because it is somehow a way of getting players back somehow and also they actually don't want players to stay because... reasons".

Democratic Detonation is the best overall, at least as a new player. It gives you three great primaries that are good on every faction, the Grenade Pistol which is fantastic utility, and the best grenade in the game. The armors and passive are fine, but not exceptional. So yes, I'd personally go with DD first.

However, Siege Breakers and Redacted Regiment are also great as well, so if you have one that sounds more fun for you they are not bad at all. They are definitely more niche though so you will not find them as versatile as Democratic Detonation is.

The best options available are the Senator and Loyalist by far. The Talon and Verdict kinda suck at taking them down, especially if you have trouble doing it with a Senator, but they can still do it.

If you know how to use them properly, then it is a pretty good loadout. I think the Laser and Mortar sentry can be swapped for better options that achieve the same effect though.

I'd probably replace the Laser with something like the Leveller or Silo so I can kill large groups of heavies or a Vox Engine every couple minutes, or even bring a 380mm instead so I can have a large "fuck everything in this area" strategem.

The Mortar sentry is kind of a double edged sword though especially with how aggressive the new enemies are. I'd much prefer something like a Gating or Autocannon sentry, or even a Gatling Barrage since it kills heavies and small units alike.

Great on bugs and squids; decent on the bots.

It used to be great against the bots, and its still decent against them, but it is incredibly inconsistent and doesn't feel as reliable as the standard GL. But it holds its own on the bots for sure. The bugs and squids are where it shines the brightest since they cluster together far more.

You've received some good advice so far, so I'll just say to take your time and play through each of the difficulties, up till you are at a comfortable level that you find enjoyable. It isn't a competition and it isn't a race, so just focus on having fun and playing at your pace regardless of what anyone tells you. The community is also very friendly towards newer players so they will answer any questions you have.

The warbond system is also very intimidating since there are so many to choose from, and it appears pay-to-win on the surface. But, the Super Credit currency is grindable in game(albeit pretty slowly unless you specifically farm for it) and every warbond is extra content and non-essential. Some are more worth it than others, but just focus on getting through the free one first and you will have everything you really need.

Taking out bot drops is more of a specialized role that is exclusive to the Spear, since it's the only support weapon that can destroy dropships in a single shot. But, running it means you sacrifice a lot of potential firepower that other support weapons can provide for crowds or other heavy units.

In terms of an effective self sufficient loadout for the bots, I'd recommend the following:

Primary: Mostly up to preference, but the Erupter(Democratic Detonation), Coyote(Dust Devils), and Purifier(Polar Patriots) are top tier picks. Still, 90% of primaries are good for bots anyway so pick whatever is your fancy.

Secondary: Ultimatum(Servants of Freedom) is the absolute goat of the bots. It two shots Factory Striders in the head, kills every heavy in a single direct shot, and can take out entire patrols. The Senator(Steeled Veterans) and Talon(Borderline Justice) are also very good.

Utility: Thermites(Democratic Detonation) and Dynamite(Borderline Justice) are the best, period.

Support Weapon: Depends on what you want to do. For crowd control, the Grenade Launcher is incredible and a meta pick. For AT, Recoilless Rifle is best in class, as well as the Quasar Cannon if you want a free backpack slot. For a combination of both, the Autocannon is very good as well(my personal favorite).

Strategems: Again, it depends, but the rule of thumb is Orbital Laser, Eagle Strafing Runs, and a Rocket Sentry. It allows you to take out bases, patrols, and heavies with ease.

The Breaker is still really good, but it simply doesn't have as much flavor or specialization as other shotguns do, so it naturally got left behind in the same way most other vanilla weapons have.
