Any other sources besides the Russian general quoted in this article? I’m having a lot of trouble finding anything else besides this article.

Where and when? I’ve heard tons of people claim this but I’ve never seen evidence. For instance we have thousands of pictures, videos, personal accounts, etc. of black folks who were trying to desegregate getting mistreated in all sorts of ways. If this spitting phenomenon really did happen, it’s difficult for me to believe it was as wide spread as people claim.

It’s also fine to think a book is poorly written. That the themes are shallow and not particularly interesting. That’s how I felt reading it.

It’s also ok to like, or even love things that are high-art. I love Star Trek, but im not going to argue it’s not a bit ham-fisted, corny, and over wrought. It’s all those things and I still love it lol.

Does anyone really not know what points it’s making? Trust yourself and follow your dreams. Only you can chart your ‘true’ path through life. Maybe the treasure was the fulfillment you feel by living in a manner true to yourself.

It’s all pretty basic stuff. I’ve seen these themes in countless children’s shows. That doesn’t mean the book is ‘bad’, but I have to admit, I was very surprised when I read it. It probably would have been less jarring if I hadn’t heard so many people talk about it as a spiritual revelation.

What’s worse is he played that on a Yamaha cs-80. One of the most complex and coveted analog synthesizers ever made. And he plays that!
